Exciting news! We are hosting our first-ever KS5 Music Open Evening with providers from across the city.

Tuesday 20th October
6:30pm - 7:30pm
All Saints Catholic High School, Granville Road, Sheffield, S2 2RJ

Sheffield Music Hub is committed to supporting young musicians as they transition from GCSE and BTEC Music in years 10 and 11 to A Level or further BTEC Music in Years 12 and 13. It can be difficult to know what opportunities are available to continue studying music after GCSE, so we want to help young people explore the different sixth forms and colleges across Sheffield that offer music courses.

This is our first KS5 Music Open Evening, and we hope it will become a regular fixture in the Sheffield Music Hub calendar.

GCSE and BTEC Music numbers in Sheffield have been rising over the past two years, and we are proud to be a city that is bucking the national trend. Something exciting is happening, and we want to help young musicians continue that momentum as they move into post-16 education.

Stay tuned for more details...

Back to school playlist release... or should we call it our Back to Music Groups playlist release? 🎶

We’ve had a brilliant week as all of our music groups have returned for the 2026-27 academic year. It’s been fantastic to welcome young singers back to our choirs, rock musicians to Band Skills and Band Factory, lots of wind players to our wind bands, and our young jazz and samba musicians on Wednesday evening. Our string and orchestral players will also be back together tonight!

To celebrate the return of music groups and the start of the new school year, we’ve put together a Back to School Playlist.

Huge congratulations to Ben Ollerenshaw and Tas Mohammed, two outstanding Sheffield Music Hub musicians who are going on to study at conservatoire! 🎓

Ben will begin a BMus in Jazz at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire , while Tas has secured a place on the Royal Academy of Music Foundation Year programme, becoming the first student to gain a fully funded place on the course.

We're incredibly proud to have supported both musicians throughout their journeys and can't wait to see what they achieve next. 🌟
