Meet our volunteer Ride Leader: Dave Challis. ๐๐ด
๐ฌ "I get a great deal of satisfaction from volunteering with PEDALL."
When Dave retired at the end of 2018, he knew he wanted to stay active and do something meaningful, especially with the New Forest right on his doorstep. He was introduced to PEDALL at the New Forest National Park Volunteer Fair in Lyndhurst, and seven years later, he hasn't looked back.
Behind the scenes, Dave makes sure the right bikes are ready and in good working order before each session. Out on the tracks, he leads the group and keeps everyone riding together. It's a role that suits him perfectly - supportive and always focused on the riders.
Dave's passion for supporting others has grown during his time with PEDALL, inspiring him to become a trustee at New Forest Mencap - join us, a charity supporting people with learning disabilities โ a testament to his dedication and compassion.
Outside of his work with PEDALL and Mencap, Dave is a fair-weather motorcyclist and holds a black belt in Shotokai Karate โ a master of his craft. ๐ฅ๐๏ธ
Thinking about volunteering with PEDALL? Here's Dave's advice: "It's very rewarding to help others less fortunate than yourself โ the effect these rides have can be amazing!" ๐
