Stuart Anderson MP recently came to the MDBA Westminster to find out more about Historic Draghunting. Great to have him along and so engaged in understanding this historic sport that uses an artificial scent dragged on pre-drafted routes for hounds.

I recently attended a drop-in session on drag hunting and clean boot hunting, hosted by the Masters of Draghounds & Bloodhounds Association.

It was a valuable opportunity to hear directly from experienced Masters and Huntsmen about how these lawful countryside activities are conducted, their history, and the role they play in rural communities.

Engaging with stakeholders like this is an important part of understanding the issues that matter across our countryside.

On Wednesday 15th April, the MDBA held its first ever 1.5 hour Drop-in for MPs and their staff at the Houses of Parliament, Westminster. The aim of this drop in was simple, to promote Draghunting and Hunting the Clean Boot with Bloodhounds and answer questions on these two sports. We welcomed 16 MPs from 3 political parties, their staff and political representatives. They met a whole range of MDBA delegates including professional huntsman, quarry, masters and a practising vet. A colour leaflet was given to all guests to take away. We are very grateful to Dr Julian Lewis MP for sponsoring the event and giving us this unique opportunity. Event Photo credit . Last Saturday we welcomed National Canadian TV to our day. Two of their journalist (Briar and Catriona) ran in our Quarry Team and were hunted by the bloodhounds. You can see how much they enjoyed it from the smiles on their faces. Reality hit home when they had to leave during the day to fly out to Iran to cover the developing war there. To our knowledge this was the first national TV channel to run the clean boot and be hunted by bloodhounds!

Yesterday we had independent Journalist Duncan Craig run with us in the Quarry Team. He had a fabulous day, and is a great runner. That was the third running journalist in our Quarry this season. We also had Meridian ITV out filming. We are doing our bit to highlight Clean Boot.

We love these hounds. They hunt with great drive and voice. Amazing that they hunt 4 sweaty humans this well.
