Have you ever wanted to understand the Bible better, explore some of the big questions of Christian faith, or simply have the opportunity to talk about faith with others?
The Bishop’s Certificate could be just what you’re looking for.
A new local group begins on Tuesday 13 October, from 7.00–9.00pm, in the Tapestry Room at St Leonard’s Church, Beoley. After the opening session on Tuesday, the course will continue on Wednesday evenings.
And if you can’t make the first session, don’t let that put you off — simply come along and join us at the second session.
The Bishop’s Certificate is a Diocese of Worcester course designed to help ordinary church members explore the Bible, Christian faith and life, and think about how these connect with our own experience and communities. You don’t have to be a theologian. You just have to be interested.

🎄 **Yes, we know it’s only September… but Christmas starts now!** 🎁

Today we’re launching our **Make Christmas Special Toy Appeal 2026** — and we need your help.

Last year, **1,520 children** received Christmas gifts through the appeal.

As we begin inviting organisations to refer families to us this year, we are expecting the need to be even greater. We estimate we will need around **5,000–6,000 gifts** for children and young people from **birth to 17 years old**.

That’s why we’re starting now.

🎁 **Why are we using Zeffy?** Because every penny you donate goes to the charity — **no commission is deducted.** When every pound can help us buy another Christmas gift, that really matters.

We know times are difficult and not everyone can give. But if you can spare even a small amount, **every little really does help**.

🙏 24 Hours of Prayer – October 2026

What might happen if, for 24 hours, we simply made space for God?

Join us for our 24 Hours of Prayer – wherever you are, for as long as you can. Pray for our churches, our communities, our world, and above all, take time simply to be with God.

One hour, half an hour, ten minutes – every prayer matters. 🙏

Sometimes a small idea becomes something much bigger.

As our churches prepared for Bags of Hope, we wanted every child who came through the doors to leave with more than a backpack and school supplies.

We wanted them to know something important: they are wonderfully made by God.

So we created Every Child is Wonderfully Made by God — a simple, colourful booklet for children aged 4–11, celebrating the fact that we are all different. Different backgrounds, languages and abilities; different ways of communicating, learning and experiencing the world — and every one of us valued and loved by God.

A great deal of thought went into getting those few pages right: making the language accessible, representing different children and families, and ensuring the message was genuinely inclusive while remaining clearly rooted in our Christian faith.

Then came the unexpected part.

The response at Bags of Hope was wonderful. Parents wanted to take it home, volunteers asked for copies, and one mum told us she was going to put it on the fridge.

And the West Midlands Racial Justice Initiative has asked us to produce an unbranded version so that it can be made available more widely across the region.

What began as one small element of a project by the 12 Anglican churches of Redditch may now travel considerably further than we ever imagined.

Perhaps that is mission at its simplest: seeing a need, creating something with care, offering it freely — and allowing God to decide where it goes next.
