Redditch Community Cup 2026
Our team had the pleasure of hosting a 6 a side football tournament on Sunday, raising funds for x3 separate and noble charitable projects, honouring the memory of Naheem Khan - a gentleman known for his humility, independence and hardworking and resilient nature, and for great rapport with people from all backgrounds, and late father of Riz Khan - A member of our ARCH organising & coaching team.

On behalf of Riz Khan & his family, we would like to take a moment to thank every single generous participant, generous sponsors, every generous donor, our amazing officials/organising team and the great guys at P&E Sports for all their amazing help and support once again around the event, whilst a special thank you extended to many of his closest friends who participated in the tournament and supported in multiple ways.
Before the tournament commenced, Hafiz Zoheb Rehman would deliver a brilliant speech to everyone in attendance - focusing on the importance of parents and recognising the work and effort of all parents who raise children - sometimes through hardships, problems and tough times, but they strive to make the life of their children better.
Whilst also recognising the importance of community and unity, charity, discipline and respect for all and each other. This speech set the tone for what was an absolutely brilliant football tournament.
Following on from an excellent RCC tournament in April of this year, our second version was once again a highly competitive 3 hour footballing event - Just as we had hoped for. Using the power of sport for something positive and memorable.
Qasim Hafiz' pre tournament favourites would be crowned worthy Champions, after an efficient display against Haseeb Irfan's youthful team. But they didn't have it all their way - with some great performances keeping them in check throughout, however in the end the qualities of both Nick Briggs and OP shone through, as their class told.
Nick Briggs would rightfully win the Player of the Tournament award and MOTM in the Final award - a mesmeric display from the now veteran, but a gifted player. OP would take the Golden Boot with 6 in 6 after a powerful display whilst the superb Naveed Akhtar, would be awarded Outstanding Goalkeeper, with a brilliant display for the eventual champions.
Brilliant guys, and brilliant players. Deserved their success and we hope they enjoy their win and the trophies.
Despite the competitiveness on display, the community atmosphere and respect for Naheem Khan was present throughout. Thank you to everyone involved.
