The Society has an established Committee who meet regularly to assess and develop the Society. It is in touch with over 7,500 members worldwide.

The Bradfield Society gives alumni, parents and friends of Bradfield the opportunity to be part of a single community; to gather socially, network and support Bradfield and Bradfieldians A sophisticated database maintains a record of progress and contact with the College. It also helps to facilitate work experience for pupils and young OBs, and re-unites lost friends. Every member of the Society is offered the Bradfieldian magazine online or in print format at least twice a year. It is a lively publication reporting on Old Bradfieldian and College activity. There are 13 Old Bradfieldian Affiliated Clubs. These Clubs cover interests ranging from Golf (competing in the Halford Hewitt), Football (Arthur Dunn Cup and Arthurian League), Waifs Cricket (Cricketer Cup) to Sailing (Arrow Trophy) and performing in the highly regarded Old Bradfieldian Choir. The Clubs are subsidised with grants from the OB Society. The Bradfield Club in Peckham is actively supported by the Bradfield Society. The Society holds various social events, including Bradfield Day held in the summer annually as a reunion for specific year groups by invitation. Another event is Winter Bradfield Day which comprises of various sports fixtures, the Huxham Runs, tea in Hall and Carols by Candlelight held in Chapel. In addition, there are regional Bradfieldian lunches held both in London and outside. On this occasion we are delighted to be joined by Florence Everett, Head of Horizons, who will share a 5 minute insight into the careers and further education support at Bradfield as well as being happy to have informal chats before and after her talk.

🍷It was an absolute pleasure to welcome back over sixty Bradfieldians over sixty to Bradfield yesterday to enjoy the College's hospitality, meet up with contemporaries, make new Bradfield connections and to hear about the Bradfield of today from our Head, Jeremy Quartermain.

The stories shared over drinks and dinner were as amusing as they heart-warming, indicative of the fond affection in which the attendees hold the College.

In addition to reminiscing about the Bradfield education of the past Old Bradfieldians were treated to a display from -xr, the College's Ed Tech partnership, a vision for the future.

A final word is reserved for the fantastic Bradfield College Catering Team, a HUGE thank you for serving the most delicious lunch in a beautifully decorated Dining Hall.

📖We are delighted to share that Julia Merican (J 12-17) has recently released a novella 'Plain Things for Lustrous'. 'Shifting between the perspectives of an estranged father and his daughter, the narrative follows this reunion between strangers against a Southeast Asian landscape.'

Julia explained the inspiration behind the work; ‘I was really interested about what it might be like to meet your parent, or your child, for the first time when you’re both adults. The idea sort of grabbed me by the heart and didn’t let go.'

Whilst at Bradfield Julia was a member of the creative writing society led by Miss Hatch, now Mrs Gregory and won the Richard Adams prize for some of her short stories. She credits all her teachers, especially those in the English and film department as playing a huge part in building her confidence as a writer. '

To have people taking your creativity seriously as a teenager is a huge gift, and I feel very lucky to have been so supported at Bradfield.’

After Bradfield Julia read English at Durham before completing a Master’s in post-1900 English literature at St Anne’s College, Oxford. Now living in London as a writer, researcher and editor, ‘Plain Things for Lustrous' is her debut publication.

We are delighted to start sharing a series of travalogues written by Sir Jeremy Blackham KCB (E 57-61), former Royal Navy officer who served as Deputy Commander-in-Chief Fleet, as he journeys through the Iberian Peninsula this Autumn. Jeremy speaks multiple languages with a particular fascination for the Spanish dialects and is a keen supporter of both Languages and Classics at Bradfield.

Poetically written his observations include fascinating geographic, historic, cultural and linguistic references dashed with his wry sense of humour. It’s well worth a read.

We are delighted to share the first the report from the winners of the Bradfield Society Travel Awards in 2025, Luella Covey (J 20-25). Luella’s plan to travel to Sri Lanka ‘to meet new people and discover a new culture whilst teaching English and being involved in a turtle conservation initiative’ meant that we were delighted to offer her our Eco Travel Award;

‘As I left Sri Lanka after four unforgettable weeks, with a deeper tan, a greater tolerance for spice and a phone full of photos of people - now friends - I’d only known for a month, I realised I’d experienced things I could never have predicted. Teaching four weeks of English lessons with no previous experience, hand-feeding baby turtles before releasing them into the Indian Ocean - left me with a broader perspective and a deep appreciation for a brand-new country and culture.
Many thanks to the Bradfield Society for awarding me the Eco Travel award to help support this most amazing adventure.’

🍻🍸There was a good buzz in the atmospheric 'snug' of the Swan in Pangbourne for our parents pub night last night. It was nice to meet up for a relaxed drink, catch up with fellow parents who live locally and share top tips for things to do over half term.

This evening we are heading into town for our London Pub night at the Cadogan on King's Road from 6:30-8:30pm, we look forward to seeing parents who can join us there 🍻🍸
