CAP Money Course, June 2026 - free to join!
4 week course in person, Monday evenings

The CAP Money Course is a free course that will teach you budgeting skills and a simple system to successfully manage your money. In just a few weeks, you will get to grips with your finances so you can budget, save and prevent debt.
Whether you already feel pretty organised or whether you feel the panic rising when you try to spend money from your account, the CAP Money Course will help you take complete control of your finances. We have lots joining our courses who are helping others too.
There are hundreds of courses run throughout the country each year, along with specific courses for students, young people and kids.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic events in Lower Earley this weekend, where a young man lost his life following a stabbing. Our prayers are with his family, friends, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking news.
Moments like this remind us how precious life is and how deeply violence impacts families, friendships, and communities. As local churches, we want people to know they are not alone. We are here with compassionate hearts, availability to talk and a willingness to walk alongside anyone who needs support.
If you need someone to talk to, prayer, practical help, or simply a quiet place to breathe and be heard, Brookside Church is here for you.
We continue to pray for peace across Lower Earley and the wider Reading community, for wisdom for those leading the investigation, and for comfort for all who are hurting.

In an age of hurry and distraction, Jesus teaches us a different rhythm, one of quiet strength, steady hope, and patient love.

This Sunday at Brookside Church we’ll gather together to reflect on Patience as part of the Fruit of the Spirit: not simply learning to wait, but learning to trust that God is at work even in the hidden and unfinished places of our lives.
