This is your reminder to practise good sun safety this week!โ˜€๏ธ

Weโ€™ve partnered with for the last 14 years to help spread the message of how to enjoy the sun safely. This includes:

- Seeking shade when the sun is strongest (11am-3pm in the UK)
- Covering up with clothes, a hat and UV-protection sunglasses
- Applying sunscreen regularly and generously, with SPF 30 or above, and at least 4 stars on the bottle.

Have a great week!๐Ÿ˜Ž

Amazing news! Cervical cancer deaths in younger women have plummeted in England following the rollout of the HPV (human papillomavirus) vaccine, according to new research, published today in The Lancet.

Between 2020 and 2024, there were no deaths from cervical cancer in women aged 20-24 in England for the first time. HPV vaccine coverage in this group was close to 90%, and the vaccine was offered at age 12-13.

Our research helped prove the link between HPV and cervical cancer, and led to the development of the HPV vaccine. The vaccination programme in England has been shown to reduce cervical cancer incidence rates by up to 90%. Itโ€™s also important that women consider taking up cervical screening when invited, even if they've had the HPV vaccine. The HPV vaccine and cervical screening combined is the best way to prevent cervical cancer.

Until now, itโ€™s not been possible to show directly that HPV vaccination reduces cervical cancer deaths. With vaccinated generations now reaching adulthood, this study provides the strongest national evidence to date that the vaccine is saving lives.

Absolutely thrilled to be supporting this immensely important event again this year.๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸซถLocal artists will take to the stage to support the fundraisers through the 24hours of physical endurance; raising money for Cancer Research. ๐Ÿ’•

๐ŸฉทRelay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising in the fight to beat cancer. Teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress weโ€™re making to beat it.

โญ๏ธThe event is focused around a relay where team members take turns completing an activity โ€“ whether that be laps of a track, walks through a park or some other challenge โ€“ to show that step by step, together we are beating cancer.

๐ŸŽถ enjoy a variety of games and music from local performers โ€“ thereโ€™s something for the whole family to enjoy!

๐Ÿ’›Hear about Cancer Research UKโ€™s scientific breakthroughs.

๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ The Candle of Hope ceremony gives us a moment to reflect and honour everyone affected by cancer.

โญ๏ธThe closing ceremony celebrates our progress and inspires us all to continue the fight against cancer.

๐ŸฉทEach year, Relay For Life achieves something truly remarkable โ€“ raising vital funds for life-saving cancer research. Every penny makes a difference. ๐Ÿฉท
