Llanwddyn Events & Community Group

Llanwddyn Events & Community Group We love organising & supporting local events and will tell you about them on this page. There is a cafe, a Hotel, B&B's and Self-Catering accommodation. SO..

Llanwddyn Events began as a small group of people who fancied organising some social events for both local people and visitors to enjoy while in the area. We live in and around the village of Llanwddyn, Lake Vyrnwy, Powys and are fortunate to be situated in one of the most stunning and picturesque parts of Wales. Our small village has a population of around 225 people, one shop (Dafarn Newedd Stor

e & Petrol Station), and is approx 1 mile away from Lake Vyrnwy - a man made lake and dam that feeds water through to Liverpool. Up and around the Lake you will find gift & craft shops, including the RSPB who manage a lot of the sourrounding land.. Spend some time at Lake Vyrnwy and enjoy the peace and tranquillity that the lake and the surrounding area have to offer, with breath taking scenery, great walking, outdoor activities, or for the less energetic, just have a mooch or stop off for a hot chocolate at the cafe. It's a great experience for everyone. Go to the official Lake Vyrnwy tourist web site to find out more. We have a lovely community centre that is ideal for holding events and is available for hire to the public. Recently it became a registered charity, and a full refurbishment program is under way. Its take years to raise funds to do this and continues today. In many ways, it's the heartbeat of our village and we would despair if it should close, which we are afraid of. It is a vital asset to us and is used for many a coffee morning and social gathering. We run fitness classes, line dancing and indoor bowls on a regular basis. As villagers we have a responsibility to look after our Community Centre/Village Hall, so keeping it used regularly is a must. It has a proper stage and can be used for so many things, like concerts, wedding receptions, parties, plays and so on. if you do need a venue ...why not try ours. The intention whilst putting on events is to raise money to fund more events and also give a little extra support to our community projects. Like running the community centre, our flower fund, improving facilities at the hall. So, although none profit, we do intend to invest in future events and our village in general. So there you have it, nothing complicated just people trying to do their bit for their community. Your support is vital. Please keep visiting the web site to see what else we have to offer over the coming months in and around Llanwddyn, Lake Vyrnwy.
