LISTER STEAM TRAM PROJECT: We had hoped for better news, but following an inspection by NB Engineering & Inspection on 30 July, our boiler has officially been condemned and is beyond repair.

While this is a significant setback, it wasn't unexpected. The inspector confirmed that our original estimate of £6,000 to replace it remains accurate, but without a new boiler, the Tram cannot run again. Replacing it is the major hurdle in bringing it back to life.

The full inspection report is available on our website under Current Projects and if you would like to help us take this next step, you can donate here: justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tvlr-listersteamtram

Every pound donated brings us closer to seeing the Lister Steam Tram under its own steam once again. Whatever you can give or simply share this appeal with others, you will be helping to preserve a unique piece of our eclectic collection.

Times are difficult and we are grateful for every bit of support.

One project is becoming a reality... now let's make the next one happen.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, the walls are now going up on the Narrow Gauge Shed. It's fantastic to see the results of our recent fundraising campaign taking shape, and it's all because people believed in the project and chose to help.

Every panel, every timber and every step forward is proof that, together, we can preserve our railway's history for future generations.

Now we have another important challenge.

Our Lister Steam Tram renovation fundraiser still has a long way to go. This unique piece of our railway's heritage deserves to steam again, but restoration on this scale simply isn't possible without the support of people who care about preserving our industrial past.

The Narrow Gauge Shed shows exactly what your donations can achieve. Let's give the Lister Steam Tram the same chance.

If you've been thinking about supporting the project, now is the perfect time. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to seeing the Lister Steam Tram back where it belongs.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far. You really are helping to keep our heritage alive.

And now it's complete!

The roof is now on the Narrow Gauge Shed, providing much-needed protection for our narrow gauge stock and creating a safe, dry workspace.

And there's even more good news!

Thanks to the incredible support we've received so far for our Lister Steam Tram appeal, we've reached our first fundraising milestone. This means we can now book an independent inspector to carry out a full assessment of the boiler, an important step towards bringing this unique vehicle back to steam.

If you'd like to help us reach the next restoration stage, you can support the appeal by donating and sharing the campaign to help it reach more people.

A great milestone for the Narrow Gauge Shed as the very first roof panel is lifted into place!

This new shed will provide much needed protection for some of our narrow gauge fleet, helping to preserve them for the future. Just as importantly, it will give our volunteers a safe, dry space to carry out restoration work throughout the year, whatever the weather.

One of the projects that will benefit is the restoration of our Lister Steam Tram. If you'd like to help bring this unique piece of railway history back to life, our JustGiving campaign is still open and every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tvlr-listersteamtram).

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the railway. We'll have another update tomorrow as work progresses!

We’re excited to officially launch our fundraising campaign for our next restoration project - the historic Lister Steam Tram.

After successfully restoring the world’s only steam-powered monorail locomotive, the Monoloco, back into regular public steamings, we are now turning our attention to another extraordinary and unusual locomotive from our collection.

Originally built by R.A. Lister in 1940, this remarkable locomotive was later converted into a vertical-boilered steam tram and has become part of the unique industrial heritage collection here at Nant Mawr.

Our overall goal is to raise £10,000 to fund:
• Boiler work and certification
• Mechanical restoration
• Steam fittings and pipework
• Engineering and fabrication
• Long-term preservation

Every donation, large or small, will help bring this one-of-a-kind locomotive back to steam and preserve an important piece of industrial railway history for future generations.

As a volunteer-run registered charity, every penny goes directly into restoration and preservation work.
