Arts at Oswestry Community Action Art and Creativity Officer at Qube in Oswestry. Accredited Safe Place Shropshire and LGBTQ+ supporters 🏳‍🌈

Qube is an Oswestry based charity serving the needs of the local community through:

Community Transport: Dial-a-ride and community cars providing accessible transport services door-to-door and low-cost for people who cannot access public transport or who live in areas not served by local transport companies. Arts and health: art exhibitions in our contemporary gallery space, creative workshops and events, arts in the community projects and original arts and crafts for sale. Volunteering: our accredited Volunteer Centre offers volunteering advice and opportunities for individuals as well as supporting voluntary organisations and community groups through access to information, advice and guidance on training and funding for the sector and by promoting volunteering and local volunteering opportunities. Care: We manage the countywide Shropshire Health and Social Care Information Providers project as well as shopping and support services

Community Facilities: Qube is a community building with a large and airy meeting room fully equipped for meetings, conferences and training. It also houses an art studio and a computer learning centre. All our services are supported by our fabulous volunteers, without whom we could not continue to operate. Qube’s services and activities assist, inform and foster the skills and aspirations of the community and respond to people’s needs.

Do you shop Co-op?! Are you a Co-op member? If you are, then we need your help!

Every time we post about our youth workshops, Crafty Club and Sketchbook Club, I have comments and messages asking if we could do something similar for adults, and I am thrilled to tell you that we have been chosen as a cause in the Co-op's Local Community Fund! Your support will help us to set up an art and contemporary craft group for adults, based in Oswestry but open to all.

You can see more details in the photos, and a handy guide on how you can sign up to support us, after that all you have to do is your usual bits of shopping! Nice and easy, but massively beneficial for our community!

Pop me a message if you have any ideas for the group, after all, it will belong to all of us!

Just a reminder that we have two spoooooky Halloween workshops this half term at the Centre Spot (Oak Street) and there are still a couple of places available for each session!

Workshops are free to attend, for young people aged 11-16, with all materials provided, but booking is essential!

A little time for you, a friendly chat and a brew!

Cancer can bring many challenges, but whether you’re living with a diagnosis, supporting someone you care about, or finding your feet after cancer, sometimes it’s good to sit back take a little time for yourself, and to meet supportive people who understand your situation.

OCA are hosting a friendly, welcoming group dedicated to those who have been touched by cancer, and it is guaranteed to be filled with connection, creativity and that little bit of time for yourself.

Each session will be held at OCA HQ from 3 pm - 4.30 pm on the last Thursday of the month!

Come along, join in as much or as little as you like and enjoy some time in good company. No pressure, just a warm welcome!

We’d love to see you!

Sadly, due to staff illness we have had to cancel this weeks Art History Lectures. We have tried to make contact with everyone impacted by this but unfortunately we’ve not managed to speak to you all.

We are also due to take a short break next week, so this means there will be no lectures now until w/c 2nd November.

Thank you for your understanding.

Should you have any questions or queries, please contact the office on 01691 656882
