Support 2gether

Support 2gether Providing Education And Support For Families Living With Antenatal, Postnatal Depression & Anxiety.
- Tel: 02882622177 The most scary part is they feel ALONE!

As one sister suffered the other supported. 2gether they grew a Perinatal mental health charity. Support 2gether began as a support group and over the years it has evolved into a support organisation.οΏ½

The charity was set up because Una lived with PND and had little knowledge of the illness that brought such darkness to her life.As Brenda looked to support her sister she realised that the support

and awareness in her community was very little and from the lack of services grew Support 2gether. The support for mothers and families is much needed in N.Ireland. There is such a taboo with Mental Health in our Society and women who experience a Perinatal mental illness such as Post-Natal Depression have a feeling of inadequacy, a feeling of 'being a bad mother'. They feel a failure towards their child, family, partner and most of all to themselves. If they knew that they were not ALONE, and that it can happen to ANYONE from any walk of life then maybe this will enable them to start believing in themselves and to start growing stronger. What we want to do is offer regular support/ education sessions in a safe environment where judgement is not welcomed, where the mother will be held and heard. Support 2gethers aim is to educate and normalise the illness which will empower parents. PND is a treatable illness but it needs treatment and due to the lack of awareness and the stigma surrounding the illness mothers do not know who to reach out for support. Support 2gether holds the mother whilst she holds her baby. Our team have lived experience of Antenatal/postnatal depression and anxiety and can support mothers/fathers through their journey of recovery to discovery οΏ½

S2 is very proud to be an expert by experience.

2gether we can support and stand up to the bully that is PND (IT). U r not alone. x

Supporting Families to a Brighter Future πŸ’›.

Today, Una and Mrs O travelled to Belfast to visit the wonderful team at TinyLife!!

As Northern Ireland's only dedicated premature baby charity, TinyLife works tirelessly to support families both within Neonatal Units and out in the community. Their passion, knowledge, and commitment to families were evident throughout our visit.

Today provided a fantastic opportunity for two charities to come together, share experiences, learn from one another, and explore how we can continue to strengthen support for families across our communities.

Thank you to the fab TinyLife team for your warm welcome.

Una and Mrs O (Ciara) left inspired, encouraged, and reminded that when organisations work together, families benefit.

Two charities. One shared goal. Supporting families to a brighter future. 🌻

On Thursday, Martin, Project Manager from the Volunteer Centre, called over for a cuppa and a catch up with Una.

The conversation focused on Support 2gether's vision for the future and how we can continue to strengthen and future-proof our charity for the families.

They discussed the invaluable role volunteers can play within Support 2gether and how members of our S2 community can help shape, influence and steer future developments. The lived experience, passion and insights of those who have walked the journey are a powerful part of who we are.

A big thank you to Martin for his time, encouragement and support as we continue exploring ways to build meaningful volunteer opportunities and create sustainable pathways for our members to remain connected, involved and empowered.

Fill ur Cuppa podcast hit the road this week as Mrs O and Una travelled to Belfast to record a special podcast episode with the fab-ul-ous Holly Hamilton.

We met Holly at the wonderful Bullitt Hotel, where we were looked after so well from start to finish. The hospitality was fantastic, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Belfast.

There were plenty of laughs, a few tears and lots of honest conversations about motherhood, family life, and the realities behind the smiles.

A big thank you to Holly for giving up her time and sharing her story so openly.

Behind the scenes, Caitlin’s media mojo was busy capturing content and social media moments, while our very patient Fehin from Nine874 once again put up with our antics and helped keep everything running smoothly!

A special thank you also to Shannon Hollywood Behaviour Consultant for sponsoring Season 4 of Fill Ur Cuppa. Sponsorship record these important stories, and share conversations which can make a difference to people's lives !!

Keep an eye on our socialsβ€”this is an episode you won't want to miss.

Fill Ur Cuppa – honest conversations about motherhood and everything in between.
