We are an animal shelter based near Omagh in County Tyrone. To date together we have saved over 10,000 unwanted, neglected and abandoned animals.

Grovehill Animal Trust formed a committee and became a registered charity in November 2011 to help homeless animals in Omagh and the surrounding areas. Grovehill Charity Shop, 1 Foundry Lane Omagh, was opened in March 2012 and has been a huge success thanks to the tireless work and dedication of the shop manager, volunteers and the generosity of the general public in donating items to sell. The shop has provided the shelter with a constant source of income essential to progress the work required. The trust has moved on in so many ways from its beginnings. In November 2013 we took the next step in our overall strategy by moving into our new site and submitting plans to build a bricks and mortar shelter that will one day be open to the public, ensuring we can grow and develop the trust for years to come. There have been many changes over the years at the shelter but our core values have never changed and the welfare of the animals remains at the heart of what we do every day.

🐾 Rubble Update! 🐾

We have some wonderful news to share about our favourite little pug, Rubble! He has officially settled into his foster home and is loving all the home comforts.

Even better news—Rubble is booked in to get his life-changing operation next week! This surgery will vastly improve his breathing and give him the comfortable, happy future a 2-year-old boy like him deserves.

We cannot thank you all enough for your incredible support, kindness, and donations so far. We are still fundraising to cover his surgery and aftercare costs.

🎃👻 Halloween Pet Safety Tips! 👻🎃

As Halloween approaches, we want to wish everyone a fun and safe celebration! 🎉

However, keep in mind that Halloween can be stressful for our furry friends. 🐶🐱 Here are some helpful tips to keep your pets safe and happy this spooky season:

🐾 Walk and feed your dog 🐕 before it gets dark.
🐾 Bring your cat 🐈 inside before nightfall.
🍫 Keep Halloween sweets and chocolate 🍬 out of reach.
🏡 Create a quiet space for pets, away from the front door 🚪.
📺 Play the TV or radio 🎶 to help mask outside noises.
🕯️ Be cautious with real candles in pumpkins 🎃—they can attract curious cats! 😼
👗 Not all pets enjoy costumes, so avoid dressing them up if they seem uncomfortable.
🔖 Ensure your pet has proper identification (microchip and ID tags) in case they get lost.
🚨 Keep pets indoors 🏠 a few days before Halloween to protect them from pranksters.
🛑 Think twice before taking your dog trick-or-treating—it can be overwhelming for them.

Stay safe and enjoy the weekend with your furry friends! 🐾💖 Happy Halloween! 🎃👻

A massive thank you to the wonderful team from Terex Omagh who spent their volunteer day with us at Grovehill Animal Trust, and a very special thank you for your exceptionally kind donation! 🐾
We are completely blown away by your generosity, hard work, and support. During your visit, you:
Made a very kind donation to help our shelter
Supplied paint and brushes, and painted our facilities
Walked our lovely dogs and played with the cats
Cut the grass and power hosed the grounds
Everyone at Grovehill is deeply grateful to Terex for supporting us and giving back to our local community in such a practical, hands-on way.
Together, we are giving homeless animals a future!

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated and supported Rubble’s appeal so far. Your kindness means the absolute world to us and helps us get closer to giving this gorgeous boy the future he deserves.
As you can see, Rubble is full of life and loves playing, but behind those happy eyes, he faces a serious health condition that affects his breathing. The upcoming surgery will vastly improve his quality of life, ensuring this 2-year-old pug can run and play comfortably.
We are still raising funds to cover the total cost of his surgery and aftercare, and every little bit helps. If you are in a position to donate or share his story, we would be so grateful.

🐾 Look at little Rubble go!

We just wanted to send a huge, heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated so far towards his operation. Your kindness means the absolute world to us (and to Rubble!).

He’s such a happy, bouncy boy, but he still really needs this life-changing surgery to help his breathing and give him a comfortable future. If you are still in a position to donate or share his story, every little bit helps us reach our goal.
