Tuesday Meditation was particularly special today because, 30 years ago on the day, the doors of the Tara Centre were first opened to the public.

Responding to a recognised need within the community for a counselling service, Maura and Mary embraced a vision that extended beyond counselling alone — a vision of healing, peace and holistic wellbeing. Through their wisdom, courage, and unwavering commitment, they brought that vision to life, creating something truly remarkable from the ground up.

Thirty years later, that vision remains the golden thread running through everything we do: holding a welcoming space for inner transformation and growth, open to all regardless of faith, background, age or gender.

As we celebrate this milestone, we offer our heartfelt gratitude to Maura and Mary for all they have given, and to the many staff, volunteers, Trustees/Directors, Members, facilitators and visitors who have helped shape the Tara Centre over the years.
The building may have changed, and many people have passed through its doors, but the spirit of the Tara Centre continues to live and breathe.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

What shapes who we are?
Why do certain gifts, challenges and patterns seem to accompany us through life?

Our workshop "Masks of the Seven Planets: A Journey into the Archetypes of the Soul" with Mike Chase Masks could help on the path to answering to those profound questions.

Through masks, movement, games, reflection, imagination and group exploration, participants will be invited into a creative and meaningful process of self-discovery exploring the archetypes of the seven planetary spheres and their relationship to human development, personality and the deeper journey of the soul.

If you are curious this two minute video offers a lovely introduction to the course in Mike’s own words https://us06web.zoom.us/clips/share/5DwgWQ4YS7G4uDB-9F_8ww

NEW: Qi Gong Yoga with Mandy
Wednesday Mornings at Tara

A gentle, meditative movement journey in healing, balance and inner awareness

This combined Qi Gong Yoga class brings together the flowing, heart-centred practice of Dru Yoga with the meditative energy work of Qi Gong (pronounced ‘Chi-Gung’), creating a deeply nourishing space for healing, balance and self-awareness.

Rooted in a shared understanding of the body as an energetic system, this class supports the gentle release of tension, the opening of energy pathways, and the restoration of natural vitality. Through slow, conscious movement, breath awareness and stillness, participants are invited into a deeper relationship with themselves — cultivating both inner calm and embodied presence.

The class is suitable for all ages, abilities and levels of experience, including those managing injury, fatigue or chronic conditions. Movements are accessible, adaptable and inclusive, with options to sit where needed.

What to expect in a class
Each session offers a carefully held progression:

Gentle warm-up and activation
Joint opening and spinal movement
Dru Yoga energy block release sequences
Qi Gong flowing movements to support energy circulation
Deep inner awareness through mindful, conscious attention
Standing or seated meditation
Deep relaxation to integrate the practice
This is a space where movement becomes meditation, and where the body is supported to return to its natural state of balance and ease.

Access to health services across Fermanagh and Omagh has been changing, and many in our community continue to experience real challenges — especially in rural areas where distance, transport, and availability of care can deeply affect wellbeing.

At Tara Centre, we recognise how closely access to compassionate, timely care is connected to healing and peace of mind. It is important that the lived experiences of our community are heard with clarity and respect.

The Department of Health is inviting people to share their experiences through the “This Is Our Health” public engagement programme. This is an opportunity to speak into what is working, what is not, and what is needed — particularly around access to services and the realities of rural living.

If you feel called to contribute, you can take part in the survey here:

Every voice matters. Your experience can help shape a more responsive and inclusive health service for all.

Take part in whichever way works best for you - in person when the team visits locations across Northern Ireland or take part online.

The Seven Planets: Who am I and Who is the Other?

This three-day experiential workshop invites you to explore the deeper journey of the human soul—before birth, through life, and beyond.

Drawing inspiration from spiritual traditions that view life as part of a wider cosmic story, we will explore how each of us may carry unique qualities, tendencies, and potentials into this life. The soul’s journey through the seven planetary spheres (Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Moon) can be understood as influences that shape our character, our challenges, and our gifts. We will look at the particular predispositions arising from the planets that each of us has been endowed with and how we can best work with these.

Through creative and embodied practices—including movement, drama, mask work, reflection, and meditation—you will have the opportunity to:

- connect more deeply with your own life journey
- explore patterns and themes that may be shaping your path
- gain insight into your strengths and inner resources
- experience new ways of relating to yourself and others
