A random photo from my recent holiday to Morocco. I feel it says it all.....no matter the culture, the language etc connection can be made. Here I'm in a Indian Sari as I'm with a long term group of Indian friends meeting a young Moroccean man and having a laugh. I'm Irish with a British passport but humanity is the password to connection.

Delighted that these young minds showed balanced opinions, and have the intelligence to look at all sides of what they read in the media. Everyone's opinion is valid, but should come with factual information. Well done girls, it was a lovely morning with you all.

Ladies, last week was manic but now I have a minute can I personally thank you all for your unstinting support. To all the ladies that helped host IWD, to the guests for supporting the event, and to my friends for helping out on both days. This year we dedicated the event to Jennifer Vance, who sadly passed away last week. Jennifer was was a lady of great empathy, and was a great support to the Syrian families when they first arrived here. May she R.I.P

After a successful evening of cultural workshops on Thursday ERANO ran a second cultural connection programme today at the Silverbirch Hotel celebrating IWD. This time it was all about dialogue and developing understanding of the different journeys made by women from our new communities. Intelligent conversations around racism and immigration took place and the audience gained a genuine insight into some of the different cultures namely Yemeni, Syrian, Kenyan and Ukrainian, the nationalities of the table hosts. As other members of the audience hailed from India, Philippines, Hungary, Solvenia etc their input further enriched the conversations making it a wonderful day of connection. Entertainment was provided by Gina and a traditional dance routine by the Kerala community. Thanks to funders Western Trust and Social Care Team, Dept of Communities and The Hub because without the support we couldn't have done this.

A fantastic night celebrating International Women's Day at the Hub. Our members provided authentic Thai and Indian food, henna art, hand massage, badge making, and a candlemaking workshop. This was complimented by a wonderful flower arranging demonstration and some relaxing mindfulness tips from members of the Hub. The evening was a genuine meeting of cultures and reflected the ethos of International Women's Day perfectly.
