Adam O'Connor, who graduated from our Foundation Degree in Visual Media Arts, has a documentary at the Docs Ireland festival in Belfast.

Adam has completed an industry work placement through the CINE placement scheme and completed the documentary as part of it.

The film is a personal reflection on the importance of spaces for children with disabilities, the freedom they offer families and the much-needed space and time for fun. It also features a number of students at the college.

The screening takes place Sunday 21st May at 11am in the Ulster Museum Belfast, as part of Selection Shorts:Programme 1. https://docsireland.ie/programme/whats-on/

We are absolutely delighted that the Mencap NI Healthier Me Ambassadors have been nominated for a BBC Radio Ulster & BBC Radio Foyle Make a Difference Awards award in the ACTIVE category! 🎉

This recognition celebrates the incredible commitment, passion and leadership of our Healthier Me Ambassadors, people with a learning disability who use their lived experience to champion health, wellbeing and physical activity across Northern Ireland.

Through sharing their voices, experiences and encouragement, our ambassadors are helping to break down barriers, inspire others to become more active and improve wellbeing within their local communities.

Thanks to support from Omaze UK funding, the Healthier Me programme has been able to grow and create more opportunities for people with a learning disability to build confidence, connect with others and lead healthier lives.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported the programme and helped make a difference. We are honoured to be recognised alongside so many inspiring individuals and groups. 💕
