Love Russia Charity

Love Russia Charity LRCharity is a Christian charity that cares for people in Russia struggling in poverty and crisis.

Since 1993, LRCharity has been reaching out to abandoned and vulnerable orphans who are completely unprepared for life after the orphanage system. The general trend sees orphanage leavers, without any support, turning to addictions and crime. Most will suffer poverty with many experiencing homelessness and unmanageable pregnancies. We strive to change traumatic circumstances through long-term supp

ort from reliable adults, shelter and teaching skills to enable orphanage leavers to thrive - not just survive. Discretion and respect for privacy is vital, therefore names referring to individuals are often changed. We aim to support our Russian friends as they work towards social change, always being sensitive to their culture as the vulnerable are rescued, person by person, breaking the cycle of orphans creating more orphans.

"Teacher, don't you care if we drown?" Jesus disciples cried as the storm raged.
As we wait for news that impacts our charity, today's blog explains how we are coping and can have peace in the storm. 🌩️

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We're in the midst of big challenge as a charity - unsure where the Lord will lead us, and what the future holds for us.

We really need your prayers at the moment:
🙏Pray that we can remain joyful and full of trust in His provision during this season of challenge.

An update on Natalia, from Yan and Nadya's orphanage leaver support group, that many of you will rememberđź’›

We first met Natalia as a child at an orphanage camp back in 2009. Through their support she found faith, and today she’s a wife and devoted mum.

Her son, Leo, was born with serious health challenges and still needs ongoing specialist support. Thanks to Natalia and Alek's love and dedication, he’s making encouraging progress—but the journey isn’t easy.

We’re grateful to continue walking alongside this family. Your support helps provide the care and encouragement they need.

Thank you for standing with families like Natalia through our support groups.

Why Russia?
Why not Russia?

1. There is an overwhelming amount of need—both seen and unseen.
2. Jesus modelled compassion to all, not just where it’s comfortable.
3. Because God's love doesn’t stop at borders, politics, or opinions.

Sometimes the hardest places are the exact places God calls us to go. ❤️

An important update from Love Russia: our bank account is being closed, likely due to our ongoing work in Russia.

Our projects continue as normal, and we remain committed to supporting vulnerable people through our partners.

We would greatly value your prayers, patience, and continued support during this time. ❤️

She’s a mum in Galina’s support group today—she grew up in one of the worst orphanages in the area, where the director was known to be corrupt and to steal from the orphanage’s funds.

Those early experiences still affect her, including struggles with alcohol.

With support and community, healing is possible. And that’s why this work matters ➡️ https://www.loverussia.org/ourprojects/supportgroups

Congruatluations to Galina who has run our orphan mum support group in Ryazan for over 10 years!

Here's what one of our mums had to say about the group: "The support is vital for us, it helps to survive hard times."
