WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | 10TH OCTOBER 💚
Today is World Mental Health Day, a reminder that mental health matters just as much as physical health.
We all have days when things feel a little heavier, when life gets overwhelming, or when we feel like we need to put on a brave face even when we’re struggling.
Sometimes, the people who seem the happiest are the ones who need someone to check in on them the most.
So today, we’re encouraging everyone to take a moment to check in with the people around them. Ask someone how they’re really doing, take time to listen, and remember that you don’t always know what someone is going through behind closed doors.
💚 It’s okay not to be okay.
💚 It’s okay to ask for help.
💚 You don’t have to have everything figured out.
💚 You are never a burden for talking about how you feel.
📞 NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO?
There is support available if you or someone you know is struggling:
💚 Samaritans: Call 116 123, free, confidential support, 24 hours a day.
💚 Shout: Text SHOUT to 85258, free, confidential text support, 24 hours a day.
💚 NHS 111: In England, call 111 and select the mental health option for urgent mental health support.
💚 CALM: Call 0800 585 858, support available daily, 5pm to midnight.
🚨 If someone is in immediate danger or there is a life-threatening emergency, call 999.
You don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out, and you don’t need to go through difficult times alone.
Let’s keep talking, keep checking in and keep reminding each other that it’s okay to not be okay. 💚
