You can support Newbury Soup Kitchen by donating safely and securely through our PayPal account. With homelessness rising by 27% since last year, your help is needed now more than ever.

Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Just £5 can provide a hot meal and a warm drink, while larger gifts help us fund vital outreach, warm clothing, and support services for those most in need.

We provide essential meals and care to vulnerable people in our community, but without ongoing funding we cannot continue to grow and reach those who need us most. Your generosity directly helps us offer dignity, comfort, and hope.

Please consider making a one-off gift or setting up a regular PayPal donation to give lasting support.

Thank you for standing with us, we are truly grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by our community. https://newburysoupkitchen.beaconforms.com/form/fbd7b52f

Soup Kitchen provide hot fresh cooked meals every week. Thursday we provide a sit down three course meal comprising of soup, main and dessert.
Wednesday and Saturday our food van goes out and parks up in The Library Car park. A two course takeaway hot meal is given out to people experiencing homelessness and vulnerably housed.

In order to do this we ask for food donations. We have food donation bins around the area in local supermarkets.

When you are out doing your shopping please pop an item in the bin if you can. Thank you.

Approximately 150 meals and 150 food parcels a week to compliment all our outreach and support services that we provide the rest of the week.

You can find our donation bins at

One of our members had the pleasure of attending a dragon's den style event - run every year by the Rotary Club of Faringdon & District - at which twelve local charities and community groups make their cases for funding support. Their bids ranged from new equipment needs, through additional services, to projects needed to expand existing support delivery.

The 'dragons', who included the local Mayor, deliberated for half an hour and then made their awards to all twelve totalling £9,000.

This was an excellent example of how a Rotary Club has become an integral part of their community, highly valued by like minded groups and organisations both within Faringdon and amongst the surrounding villages.

Today, we honour the life and legacy of 𝐃𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐧, who has passed away at the remarkable age of 101.

Don was more than a dedicated Rotarian.

He was one of the visionaries who helped bring Australian Rotary Health to life.

In the early 1980s, when Ian Scott first proposed the idea of a national Rotary-funded health research foundation, Don was among those who saw the potential of what could be achieved.

As the President of the Rotary Club of Mornington, a key member of the inaugural committee established to guide the project, and later a Foundation Member of Australian Rotary Health, Don played a pivotal role in helping transform an ambitious idea into reality.

More than four decades later, that vision has grown into Australia's largest independent funder of mental health research. Australian Rotary Health has invested tens of millions of dollars into research, scholarships and health initiatives that have improved the lives of countless Australians.

That impact exists because people like Don believed it was possible.

Throughout his life, Don remained a passionate supporter of Australian Rotary Health and Rotary's commitment to improving the health and wellbeing of communities. In recognition of his extraordinary contribution, he was honoured as an Australian Rotary Health Ruby Companion. His legacy will continue to be felt through every researcher, scholar and community touched by the work he helped create.

Because of Don.

Because of his vision. Because of his belief in a better future. Lives have been changed.

On behalf of Australian Rotary Health, we extend our deepest condolences to Don's family, friends, fellow Rotarians and the Rotary Club of Mornington.

Thank you, Don.

Your legacy lives on.
