We had a fantastic Team Day yesterday, celebrating all of the fantastic achievements at Dingley’s Promise over the past year including new starters and promotions, personal and professional milestones and achievements, successful Ofsted inspections and giving out the Dingley Awards in recognition of staff who have excelled within our specialist centres.

We also enjoyed the wellbeing focus, selecting relaxing and celebratory treats for another team member to make them smile and remind them how valued they are. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported with the event especially Sue & Liv from Boogie Mites who delivered in interactive session on the importance of music and movement for children with SEND, and Rebecca Brown and the Irwin Mitchell team for generously sponsoring the event and sharing information about the legal support they give to families.

We can’t wait to see what this academic year brings! Thank you again to all of our wonderful staff teams – the work you do makes a real difference to every child and family we support.

FAMILIES: What would you like to learn more about?

We've been creating new, free family guides and online webinars to help families find practical information and support for everyday life with a child with SEND. From brushing teeth and getting ready for nursery to play, communication, sensory needs and supporting your child's development, there's lots we can explore together.

We'd like to hear from you:
Is there a topic you'd like us to create a guide about? Is there something you'd like us to cover in an online webinar?

Meet Alex, a parent from our Bournemouth Centre, who is taking on the 50km Run to the Sea challenge this October!

In this reel, Alex shares why he’s taking on his biggest challenge yet and why supporting Dingley’s Promise means so much to him and his family.

We’re incredibly grateful to Alex for taking on this amazing challenge, and to everyone who has supported his fundraising so far. If you’d like to help him reach his £2,000 target, you can donate via JustGiving: https://buff.ly/hT1tY00

Our storage units at Big Yellow Self Storage Gloucester, Reading and Swindon have been coming in useful this year!

From fundraising events to storing donations, these units have made logistics a breeze for our fundraising team, with multiple locations making it easier for staff across our local centres to access everything they need.

Thank you to Big Yellow for supporting Dingley's Promise through this generous partnership. Your support is helping us continue to grow our services, reach more communities and make an even bigger difference for children with SEND and their families.

Exploring different textures through play can support children's communication, creativity, physical development and understanding of the world around them. For children with sensory processing differences, it's important that these experiences are introduced without pressure, allowing every child to explore in a way that feels right for them.

Our free Messy Play Texture Hierarchy shares practical ideas to help you introduce new textures through play while supporting children's confidence, choice and autonomy. Download your free copy: https://buff.ly/yQ8UgwR

Inclusive practice begins with understanding the child in front of us.

Before thinking about strategies, interventions or next steps, we need to take time to understand:
• Who is this child?
• What are their strengths and interests?
• How do they communicate?
• What helps them feel confident, comfortable and included?

A curious approach encourages us to ask "Why might this child be responding this way?", rather than: "How can I change or stop this behaviour?".

By looking beyond what we see and considering each child’s individual experiences, needs and preferences, we can create environments where children are supported to participate, develop confidence and learn in ways that work for them. Developing inclusive practice starts with knowing every child as an individual.

Our Introduction to Early Years Inclusive Practice course explores how inclusive environments, understanding different developmental needs and working together as a team can create meaningful learning opportunities for all children with SEND. Find out more about the course: https://buff.ly/T8IIowm
