A Young Carer is someone under the age of 25, who helps to look after someone because theyβre unwell, have a disability, a mental health issue or struggle with substance misuse. Young Carers might help with things around the house like washing, cooking, or looking after a sibling. A Young Carer might also have more of an emotional caring role, meaning they find it hard to switch off and worry abou
t the person they care for. You can develop new skills, become more independent and can build a great relationship with the person you care for. However, you might struggle to find time to see friends or relax, find it hard to concentrate at school, or may be experiencing strong feelings and emotions. NEWCIS Young Carers is here to support you in your caring role and explore what would make your life easier. If you are a Young Carer or if you know a Young Carer living within Flintshire and you want to find out about the support available, please get in touch with us via:
