NEWCIS Young Carers Flintshire

NEWCIS Young Carers Flintshire NEWCIS Young Carers helps to support all Young Carers in Flintshire. Being a Young Carer can be a rewarding experience!

A Young Carer is someone under the age of 25, who helps to look after someone because they’re unwell, have a disability, a mental health issue or struggle with substance misuse. Young Carers might help with things around the house like washing, cooking, or looking after a sibling. A Young Carer might also have more of an emotional caring role, meaning they find it hard to switch off and worry abou

t the person they care for. You can develop new skills, become more independent and can build a great relationship with the person you care for. However, you might struggle to find time to see friends or relax, find it hard to concentrate at school, or may be experiencing strong feelings and emotions. NEWCIS Young Carers is here to support you in your caring role and explore what would make your life easier. If you are a Young Carer or if you know a Young Carer living within Flintshire and you want to find out about the support available, please get in touch with us via:

While we’re sad to see Katie go, we are incredibly proud of her and excited for her next adventure. Good luck, Katie, and thank you for everything ⭐️

Increasing understanding about mental health has always been central to Mental Health Awareness Week. But awareness alone is not enough. The theme for this years Mental Health Awareness Week is Action.

This year’s theme is an invitation for all of us to take that next step. Your action can be something you do for yourself, for someone else, or for all of us.

Even small actions can have a big impact! Throughout Mental Health Awareness Week the Mental Health Foundation will be sharing tips to try, ranging from quick wins to advice on developing long-term healthy habits. Visit πŸ”— https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/our-work/public-engagement/mental-health-awareness-week/take-action-good-mental-health

Action does not have to be perfect to be powerful. What matters most is that we make taking action for good mental health a priority in our lives.
