❤️ A little message from the Cake Shed ❤️
There won’t be a top-up at the Cake Shed today, and I wanted to share with you all why. ❤️
Today marks four years since we lost my beautiful son, Morgan, aged just 23. 💔 Four years of learning to live with a loss that no parent should ever have to face, and four years of finding ways to keep going, even on the days when it feels impossibly hard.
I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to every single person who visits the Cake Shed, buys a cake, leaves a kind message or supports what I do in any way. You might think you’re simply buying a little treat, but to me, it means so much more than that.
The Cake Shed has become my little light in the darkness. ✨ It gives me something positive to focus on, brings me so much pleasure and helps me mentally to keep going, even when life feels heavy. Being able to make people smile through something as simple as a cake brings a little light into my world, too. ❤️
And there’s another reason your support means so much. The money raised through our cake sales also helps me and my colleague fund and provide Morgan’s MAP support group, so that we can be there for other parents who have experienced the unimaginable pain of losing a child. No parent should have to navigate that heartbreak feeling alone, and being able to offer support to others is one way we keep Morgan’s memory and love alive. 🦋
So, when you support the Cake Shed, you’re doing so much more than buying a cake. You’re helping me find purpose on the hardest days, helping us bring smiles to others, and helping us provide a little comfort and understanding to families walking a road no one ever wants to travel.
If you’ve ever bought a cake, shared a post, recommended us to a friend or simply stopped by, please know that you’ve been part of something that means more to me than words can ever explain.
Today, and every day, this is for you, Morgan. Forever 23, forever my son, forever loved. 💙🦋
