Woweeee, we did it!

Thank you so much to our amazingly generous Princess Project community, we not only reached our £10,000 target, we smashed it- we raised a grand total of £12,176, which when gift aid is added in, brings us to a phenomenal £13,462!

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, baked, shared our posts, prayed for us, or cheered us on from a distance. As usual it was a massive team effort and whatever part you played- thank you.

These much-needed funds will allow us to continue to support mums and their families across Kent and beyond and are a huge encouragement to the whole Princess Project team.

Finally we give grateful thanks to God, our faithful provider, who always supplies just what we need, when we need it.

That's a wrap on our Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund campaign for this year! Thank you so much to everyone who donated, we so appreciate each and every gift and will be in touch soon to let you know the final total. For many new parents across the county, it is difficult to access free, good-quality parenting classes. Our FREE programme of courses aims to address that. The Babies Matter course equips parents and strengthens family life, and has been specially developed to support disadvantaged families. We offer a free creche at all our in-person courses, and run courses online too, to make it easier for parents to join us. 76% of our service users say that their family life has improved because of support received from the Princess Project, and 70% feel more confident in their parenting as a result.

A £30 donation could pay for the hall hire for 1 Babies Matter session- and if you donate during the campaign week, your donation will be doubled meaning 2 sessions instead of 1!

We have £1,604 of match funding left to unlock with 24 hours to go- can you help us get over the line?!

In the most recent statistics from Kent County Council, 32% of children under 16 in the county are living in absolute or relative low-income households, with 65% of these being families where at least one adult is working. The average cost of raising a child in the UK is £10,000 / year.

Totcycle, our baby and toddler goods exchange, provides good quality second hand items for 0-5s free of charge or at very low cost, to anyone who would like to use the service. 97% of Totcycle users said that it had made a positive impact on their family finances.

We currently spend £190/month on storage for our Totcycle items. Your donation could help keep this much-needed service going, and remember that any gifts donated during the campaign week will be DOUBLED!

Last years' MBRRACE-UK report into maternal deaths found that new mothers in the most deprived areas of the UK are more than twice as likely to die by su***de than those in the least deprived areas. Almost 1/3 of Princess Project service users live in the 10% most deprived wards in the country, and nearly 1/2 in the bottom 20%.

As well as drop-in support through our Hubs, we provide one-to-one support through our team of staff and volunteers, which helps mums feel less alone, more connected and improves their wellbeing- 77% of our mums say their mental health has improved as a result of engaging with the Princess Project.

A £50 donation could allow us to train up a new volunteer Mum2Mum befriender, to provide one-to-one support to a young mum for up to 2 years. Donating during the campaign week means 2 new volunteers instead of 1- so 2 more families receiving life-changing support.
