Working with the child and the wider family, Dandelion Time believe that family relationships and bonds are vital in helping a child overcome their difficulties and are often a key factor in their issues. When Diamond was born, she sadly lost her mum and had to be hand-reared. Because of a small imperfection, she couldn't be shown or bred, so her first family wanted to find her a home where she'd be valued and well cared for.

We're delighted that home is Dandelion Time.

Diamond has become a much-loved member of the flock and a favourite with many of the children and families who spend time here. Whether she's providing wool for crafts or simply greeting visitors in the field, she's part of daily life on the farm.

Her story reflects something that's important to us. Feeling that you belong can have a powerful impact on wellbeing, and creating a place where children and families feel welcomed, valued and connected is central to what we do.

After a long, dry summer, it's been lovely to see the fields turning green again and our chickens enjoying the fresh grass.

Nature reminds us that growth isn't always constant. Sometimes things slow down, struggle, or need time to recover before they can flourish again.

Just as the landscape recovers and renews itself, people can too. It's one of the many ways nature helps us explore resilience, hope and the possibility of change.

The items donated will be shared with families attending Dandelion Time. Cooking together is an important part of many of our programmes, helping families connect and spend time together, and these donations will help carry that on at home.

Thank you to the fantastic team from Gravis who gave up their time to spend a day with us at our Maidstone site.

As one of our valued charity partners, Gravis employees rolled up their sleeves and made a real difference. From cutting back hedges and tidying paths to transporting garden waste and organising the farm, their hard work helped us create a safer, more welcoming space for the children and families we support.

The day ended with a special meet-and-greet with some of our animal residents - donkeys, guinea pigs, llamas, and sheep - who play a vital role in our therapeutic work.

Getting creative with clay faces on trees is more than just fun, it’s a powerful way for children to connect with nature and express themselves.

One family spent time carefully shaping the features and working out how to make the clay stick to the bark. When their first attempts didn't work, they tried different approaches – including throwing it at the tree - and kept going until they were happy with the result.

Moments like these can be especially important for children who might usually give up when things go wrong, helping them overcome their frustration or disappointment, and experience the satisfaction that comes from perseverance and success.
