Great to welcome Marsh Drege, Executive Director & Pastor, from the Seafarers International House in New York this afternoon, a wonderful opportunity to discuss how our organisations support seafarers either side of "the pond"!

👏 What an achievement! Congratulations to Gordon Foot on completing his Nordic Challenge 2026 and raising an amazing £9,249 so far for QVSR.
Gordon's adventure began with a flight to Stockholm before boarding the Arctic Circle Train for a 15-hour overnight journey to Abisko, Sweden, just inside the Arctic Circle. From there, he set out on an arduous trek through the breathtaking landscapes of Lapland, crossing tundra, mountains and valleys, and relying on remote mountain huts for shelter each night.
The photos show Gordon arriving at the final mountain hut in the Arctic Circle, Hunddalshytta, after an 18km trek across the mountains from Cunojavrre in Norway.
Gordon's determination, resilience and commitment to supporting QVSR have been truly inspiring. We are incredibly thankful for everything he has done to raise awareness and funds for our charity.
We also extend our thanks to UTM Consultants for headline sponsorship of the trek, to KASK for providing Gordon’s safety helmet and Adventurous Ewe Limited, the organisation which guided the trek.
And our grateful thanks also to everyone who has donated and cheered Gordon on along the way. Together, you've helped make a lasting impact. 💙

Richard, one of our volunteer minibus drivers, did an 8-hour shift yesterday and it was a busy one. A total of 44 seafarers picked up from their vessels and 16 returned to their ships before the evening driver took over.
