The official theme for World Hypertension Day on May 17th 2026, is "Controlling Hypertension Together!” 🩺

This encourages action from individuals, families, communities, health professionals, and health systems to understand hypertension and empower individuals to take an active role in managing their blood pressure.

At Social Action for the Health, one of the ways we contribute to this mission is through our Good Moves programme. 🀝πŸ’ͺ

Good Moves is an 8-week programme delivered to groups in community venues and GP practices across Tower Hamlets.

The programme is available to adult residents living with hypertension (and also diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease) with a focus on action planning and supporting each other to build a support network and increase confidence to take control of your long-term conditions. ❀️

πŸ’š Mental Health Awareness Week πŸ’š

"Mental health is far more than the absence of illness β€” it is an intrinsic part of our individual and collective health and well-being." β€” World Health Organization (WHO)

At SAfH, we understand that true health means wellbeing of the whole person – physically and mentally.

Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference β€” getting outside, spending time with others, going for a walk, or trying something creative. These small moments can make a big difference to our mental health and our wellbeing. πŸŒΏπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈπŸ§΅

✨ Whether you're looking for support for yourself or someone you care about, get in touch to find out more about our services.

πŸ‘‰ Refer yourself or simply drop in to one of our sessions β€” no appointment needed. πŸ”— www.safh.org.uk/services
