This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Centre providing activities to our local communities. We're going to be marking the occasion and the achievements of the Centre with a Celebration Day on Saturday 1st August. We'd love it if you could join us!

Lil Bojang
It is with deep sadness that we write to let you know that Lil passed away earlier this week.
She was a member of the Management committee from 1976 to 1993.
Lil was among the founding members of the Management Committee and lived in Riverside Mansions overlooking the basin during the 1970s. Together with Roz Yhnell and Rene O’Connor, she helped organise hot dog stalls at the E1 Festivals to raise essential funds for Shadwell. Lil is in the middle of this photo with Rene on her left.
Lil’s youngest son, Michael, was a keen member of the youth club and later he was instrumental in organising the first computer for Shadwell and later worked for Microsoft. Mike continues to participate in adventurous activities.
Her daughter, Lisa was a member of the training scheme in the 80’s and qualified as a kayak instructor. She worked part time at Shadwell and later achieved a degree in Community studies.
Lil was one of the early champions of Shadwell always ready to roll up her sleeves and get stuck into whatever needed to be done.
All of us at the Basin would like to pass on our sincere condolences to all of her family and loved ones, she will be very much missed.
