We are an education technology charity providing free computing courses that give young people computing, AI and essential life skills to shape their future through technology.

At Apps for Good, our courses are built around meaningful, student-led projects. Students work together to choose and research a problem, design a solution and bring that solution to life.

It’s an approach that gives computing context, purpose and relevance, helping students see technology not just as something to learn, but as something they can use to make a difference.

By making technology more collaborative and connected to the real world, we can help challenge assumptions about who technology is for and broaden young people’s aspirations for the future.

As part of our latest Impact Report, CEO Natalie Moore reflects on another brilliant year at Apps for Good.

In 2025/26 we reached 26,746 young people across 622 schools through our free computing courses, building both the computing and essential life skills of students across the UK.

From celebrating our 15th anniversary, to launching our new AI-focused course and educator platform, it’s been a busy year full of learning. We’ve loved engaging with schools through Showcase, wrap-up visits and events and we can’t wait to see what our students and teachers create next!

Our 2025/26 Impact Report is here!

AI is transforming the world around us faster than ever and we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to understand it, question it and use it to make a positive impact.

In August, we launched AI for Good 2.0 - our new free, project-based computing course designed to help young people build the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to thrive in an AI-enabled world.

But our impact goes beyond AI and computing skills. Through project-based learning and industry engagement, students are developing essential skills such as problem-solving, creativity and communication, while building their agency and seeing how technology can be used to tackle challenges that matter to them.

We’re proud to be reaching young people across the UK and supporting the next generation to shape the future with technology.

Education is changing quickly. Technology is changing and the workplace young people will eventually enter is changing too.

That makes opportunities to bring educators, industry and innovators together more important than ever.

Our CEO, Natalie Moore, will be speaking at BRILLIANT Festival this November, where thousands of people from across education and beyond will come together in Liverpool to explore what all of this means for schools, teachers and, most importantly, young people.

Meet the creator behind AI for Good 2.0!

What does it take to create a computing course that helps young people understand AI, and gives them the confidence and skills to question it and create alongside it?

We spoke to Jenny Talbot, the educator, digital curriculum and STEM specialist behind AI for Good 2.0, to find out more about the thinking behind the course.

Drawing on 18 years of experience in EdTech, Jenny worked closely with the Apps for Good team, educators, Fellows and our wider community to create a course that is flexible, practical and designed to support teachers to introduce AI with confidence.

The result? A free, modular course where students can explore how AI works, consider its impact and design and build their own AI-powered apps for social good.

Project-based learning can give AI education context, purpose and relevance for young people. By connecting learning to the issues they care about most, students can move beyond being passive users of technology and become curious, creative problem-solvers.

AI for Good 2.0 was created by educator, digital curriculum and STEM specialist Jenny Talbot, drawing on 18 years of experience across the EdTech sector. Working closely with the Apps for Good team, educators, Fellows and our wider community, Jenny helped shape a course designed to meet the needs of teachers, giving them the flexibility, practical resources and support they need to introduce AI with confidence.

The result is a free, flexible and modular course that gives students the skills and agency to understand AI, and to design and build their own AI-powered apps to tackle social action challenges that matter to them.
