On Thursday 23 July, Fire Cadets were invited to join the prestigious International Security Officers Day celebrations at The Dilly.

After a very successful International Women’s Day event with IPSA earlier this year, where our female officer cadets were exceptional, the organisers extended thua further invitation.

Cadets welcomed guests as the friendly uniformed face of young people at this iconic event.

Fire Cadets had front row seats to enjoy guest speakers, celebrations and awards presented to outstanding security professionals from both the UK and overseas, for dedicated service and exceptional ability.

A massive congratulations to all of our Cadets celebrating their pass out ceremonies recently!

These celebrations are a chance for our young people to reflect on everything they've learnt during their time with us, their personal growth, practical skills, and friendships built.

Families and friends were invited to see the culmination of all their hard work put into practice with some impressive drill displays.

We hope every Cadet feels as proud of themselves as we do!

It also wouldn't be a pass out without the biggest thanks going to our amazing teams of Volunteer Cadet Instructors across London. Their dedication is vital to the success of every unit.

Behind every great Fire Cadet is an ironing board and a tin of boot polish!

In a semi-disciplined service, having high standards is a reflection of our dedication and pride. Whether it's our pass out ceremonys in front of families and senior officers, or that first job interview, presenting yourself well will help you feel sharp and more confident.

We've had a very busy weekend, but one of the highlights was supporting Heston White watch to raise an incredible £3,000 for the Fire Fighters Charity 🥳

Firefighters rowed the entire length of the Thames, which is 340km! A huge well done to all involved, including Blaze Bear who even contributed 13 miles!

The Brigade has been awarded the Freedom of the London Borough of Southwark – the highest honour the borough can bestow.

The award acknowledges the significant and lasting contribution made by London Fire Brigade to the life of the borough and recognises the breadth and impact of their work. From our emergency response and the vital role played in keeping people safe through prevention and protection, to our partnership and community engagement work.

The award was presented by the Mayor of Southwark, Claire Sheppard at a special ceremony at Southwark Cathedral.

Cadets and instructors were also lucky enough to take part in the procession.

Some of our team agreed to have their faces painted if over £200 was raised for the Fire Fighters Charity today...

A great day was had by all supporting New Maldens open day, and it appears a lot of funds were raised for a good cause too!

Cadets have always been a staple at Fire station open days, putting their knowledge and growing confidence to good use engaging with the public.

The High Sheriff of Greater London, Dhruv Patel CBE, recently presented Justice Awards and Youth Awards, recognising young Londoners who have shown courage, public spirit and service to others.

Several of our incredible Cadets across London, and one instructor, received awards which recognised their good character and values, rather than academic accolades.

The ceremony was hosted at Inner London Crown Court with the support of His Honour Judge Michael Evans KC, Resident Judge and Honorary Recorder of Southwark.

The High Sheriff’s Justice Awards also highlighted members of the public who have assisted the courts and helped bring offenders to justice, often in difficult or dangerous circumstances.
