In 2024, Henry’s parents abseiled down St Thomas' Hospital to celebrate their son’s incredible journey. Henry spent several months at Evelina London from just three weeks old due to a heart condition, but he is since doing really well.

The incredible teams at Evelina London are at the heart of everything that makes the hospital so special.

Through our funding, we help provide vital education and training opportunities, giving staff the chance to learn from world-leading experts, develop new skills and explore innovative ways to improve care for children and families.

One example is the HeartWorks Simulator - an innovative training tool that helps doctors practise and develop their skills in scanning children’s hearts. By using highly accurate imaging, teams can build confidence in identifying and understanding heart conditions, helping to support the next generation of expert care.

By investing in training and innovation, we’re helping Evelina London teams continue to deliver the very best care for children now and in the future 🧡

In just over a week, Darren will take on the final leg of his incredible 140km challenge before Isaac’s 14th birthday: a 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run at the London T100 Triathlon.

Since losing his son Isaac, who spent just six days at Evelina London Children’s Hospital in 2012, Darren has turned his grief into action. Over the past 14 years, he’s completed countless fundraising challenges - including multiple London Marathons, Royal Parks Half Marathons, RideLondon, Swim Serpentine, an ultra marathon, triathlons, obstacle races, community events, and even 30 fundraising challenges in 30 days during lockdown.

This year’s challenge has been one of his biggest yet. From the ATW Lee Valley Half Marathon to the London Marathon and now the London T100 Triathlon, every mile has been completed in Isaac’s memory.

Training for a marathon was tough. Training for a triathlon has pushed Darren even further. But every step, pedal and stroke is helping fund life-changing equipment and support for babies, children and young people cared for at Evelina London.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of his supporters, Darren has already raised more than £50,000 over the years. Let’s help him cross the finish line and make an even bigger difference.

Meet little Kylo 🧡

Born with Posterior urethral valves), Kylo was just two weeks old when he was transferred from Brighton Hospital to Evelina London Children's Hospital in 2024.

During such a worrying and overwhelming time, his family were supported by an incredible team of doctors, nurses and staff who helped make things that little bit easier. After a few weeks and one operation, Kylo was well enough to go home.

The support didn't stop there - Kylo continues to be seen for regular check-ups at Evelina London, and today he is a thriving, happy little boy full of character.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in his care, and to his family for sharing their story 🧡
