Lucky’s Success Stories 🥹💛

This week’s spotlight is on Wesley, who was adopted in 2024.

“We brought Wes home October 2024, and home he’s well and truly made it. We can’t imagine life without our short king!

Wesley has taken over our entire personalities and our hearts. He’s a creature of routine, who lets us know when it’s breakfast & dinner time, play time, walkies or nap time. The boy works on complete clock work. A shy boy at first, who still is round new people, it’s been amazing to see just how confident, playful and boisterous he can be.

A lover of a Lake District trip (albeit maybe not on the paddle boards), beach days, walks in forests or just his local stomping ground. This boy is most happy outside.

That is apart from when it’s time to curl up on the sofa on a night time.

Food is the way to our hearts, and Wes has fitted right in with that ethos. A begger of scraps, a stealer of his cousins food, he’ll eat anything and everything, anytime of the day.

He’s our baby boy, with every nickname under the sun and we’d be lost without him for sure.”

Meet Spike 🐾

Handsome? Obviously. Gentle? Absolutely. Professional pup cup tester? He’s working on it 🫣

After 5 years in a loving but busy family home, followed by a few weeks in kennels, Spike is now looking for a quieter place to call his own.

He’s a gentle, loving boy who loves walks, squeaky toys, adventures and being told how handsome he is (although he’s already well aware).

He can be a little unsure in new places and around unfamiliar noises, but he’s growing in confidence every day - and has already been busy practising his recall, exploring new places and perfecting his café manners.

Spike is looking for a quieter, less hectic home where he can be the only dog, with patient people who can help him continue building his confidence.

Cedric was such an incredible boy. We rescued him from certain death, and he recovered beautifully and became such a wonderful, loved pet in the UK. He really did beat all the odds and we were all devastated by his passing earlier this month 🌈

As well as being his gotcha day, today is also his mum Viki's birthday, and we can only imagine it's a difficult one, to be without Cedric. But what an amazing thing, to be surrounded by people who love Cedric to this extent. We really hope that the knowledge he had the best years of his life with Viki can be of some comfort. ❤️‍🩹

From everyone at Lucky's, we'd like to say such a huge thank you. To Viki, for giving Cedric the life he always deserved and desperately needed. And to Viki's friends, for being so generous and for loving Cedric and Viki so much. What a legacy of love this boy has left.

We promise to use the money to support other dogs in need of that same care and love, and to help them find their forever homes. 🐾

⭐ NERA'S ONLY GONE AND GOT HERSELF A HOME ⭐

Our gorgeous girl has been the most amazing mum, and has waited so patiently, and now we can officially say she's on her way to Germany to start her new life. 🥹

In 2023 Nera was saved from a temporary shelter along with her pups Mandy, Kim, Sirius, Boris, Hera, and Cleo. She was so lucky (and we're so grateful!) to have had a huge amount of support with this move, to get her and her puppies to safety at Do Good Rescue. We were originally only aiming to save Nera and one pup, and thanks to our incredible community we were able to save all seven!

She's been given such an incredible chance and without your support, Nera could have had a very bleak future.

So we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated towards her family being saved, and everyone who sponsored her during her time with us as well.

As you can see from the messages we've added to Nera's photos, our team is just a little bit thrilled with the news (we think we've been very chill all things considered!)

The last photo is of her leaving Elisa and she looks a little nervous but it'll all be worth it soon. Many of our volunteers have met Nera, she's a cuddly, confident, adorable personality and we are so excited for her to finally, finally get this chance!🤞❤️

What’s your favourite thing about Leo? 🥰

Jumping on this trend because there’s so much more to Leo than meets the eye (although, obviously, he’s also very cute).

After almost three years with his wonderful foster family, Leo is ready to find his forever home. Could you be the one he’s been waiting for?

A little bit about Leo…

💛 6 years old 🥰 Small-sized (10–11kg) 🐕 A calm resident dog preferred ❌ Cannot live with cats 👦🏻 Older, dog-savvy children 🏡 Rural or semi-rural home preferred

Leo currently lives happily with another dog and has a lovely group of doggy friends. He’s housetrained, sleeps well through the night and can be left for up to four hours.

Like many rescue dogs, Leo has a few things his forever family will need to understand and continue working on. He has previously displayed some food guarding and can be fearful and reactive towards other dogs on walks.

The brilliant news? He’s made so much progress in foster 🥹

With the right support, he’ll now choose to move away rather than react, and he’s absolutely flourished with help from his foster family.

We’d love to find Leo a forever home where he can continue to thrive with someone who understands him, celebrates his progress and can give him the life he deserves.
