Greenwich Carers Centre

Greenwich Carers Centre Greenwich Carers Centre is a charity that offers a range of fantastic services to all carers

We finance our services by using a variety of funding partners and donors; the main source of our present income being through the London Borough of Greenwich Social Services Department. Other sources of income include various Corporate and private donors. Greenwich is very fortunate in that it has Authorities that are prepared to be proactive in working with Carers and supporting their needs. We

are pleased to say that we have been a key player alongside Social Services, the Health Authority, Carers and other local agencies in developing and designing the Boroughs Carers Information, Assessment, and Support Services.

Today is international dogs day, here is some information on what the day is about and some pics of staff dogs.
International Dog Day or National Dog Day is an annual observance held on August 26 to celebrate dogs of all breeds and backgrounds, promote dog adoption, and raise awareness about the welfare of dogs around the world. It also recognizes working dogs and the roles they play in human society, including service, police, military, and search and rescue dogs.

Unpaid carers are not the same as paid carers.

Paid carers are employed to provide care.

Unpaid carers give their time, energy and love to support someone close to them. Both roles matter — but they are not the same.

If you are caring without pay, you deserve to be recognised, listened to and supported.

Greenwich Carers Centre offers welcome, advice, help and opportunities for unpaid carers aged 18 or over.

We have a few volunteering positions open at the moment and we would love to hear from you if you think you can make a difference in our team. Full training given.

We would especially welcome applications from current unpaid carers, or people with experience of caring for a loved one.

"Am I a carer?"

If you provide unpaid help to someone with day-to-day life, you may be a carer.

That support might be for a partner, relative, friend or neighbour who is older, disabled, unwell or recovering from a life-changing injury. You might not call yourself a carer — but your care matters, and support is available.

If you or the person you care for lives in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Greenwich Carers Centre is here for you.

Contact [email protected] or call 0300 300 2233, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
