What a day at the Royal Greenwich Jobs & Skills Fair 2026! 👏

We had a brilliant time exhibiting at Charlton Athletic Football Ground last week, and the response from visitors was really heartening.

Over 100 people signed up for our fully-funded courses on the day, and demand for our Driving Ambition® driving theory preparation programme was so high we ran through our entire stock of flyers. We also had a lot of interest from people keen to explore our reception and finance work placements.

On top of that, we had some really productive conversations with DWP, SkillSpire, GLLaB and FlowerSkills - organisations we're looking forward to working more closely with.

If you work with adults who could benefit from our courses or work placements, get in touch, we'd love to talk about how we can work together.

🚗 The Highway Code can feel overwhelming...

For many learners, preparing for the driving theory test can feel easier when they have someone to go through the rules with them. Driving Ambition, our prep course, gives learners support with the Highway Code, theory questions and road safety knowledge, helping them build confidence step by step. Our charity also provides financial support with the provisional license.

Did you know there are many different paths into the automotive trade?

Our Virtual Reality course gives learners a practical way to explore vehicle maintenance in a simulated garage environment.

Using VR, learners can practice key tasks, build confidence, and get familiar with tools and processes before stepping into a real workshop setting.

It's a useful starting point for people who are curious about motor mechanics, want to try something a little different, or prefer hands-on learning.

Another year, another chapter. 📖

Here's what we've been up to between April 2025 and March 2026:

🤝 84 work placements hosted
🌟 423 disadvantaged adults supported
🔧 713 vehicles serviced and repaired - our highest yet!

Every number on that board is a person who showed up, worked hard, and took a step forward. We're incredibly proud of what this community continues to achieve together.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey - staff, volunteers, supporters, and friends of FST. Here's to the year ahead. 🙌
