Shivia

Shivia is a UK registered charity. Shivia was founded in 2008 and is a UK registered charity working in India.

We work in India to give families living below the poverty line the tools and training to start income-generating enterprises. We empower the people in most need, and particularly women, to work their own way out of poverty and provide a brighter future for themselves and their family. The focus for each of our programmes is to provide the tools and training for people to start their own small enterprise and earn a decent income. We believe this is key to the success of our programmes and helps deliver the impact we are striving for.

“I cannot thank Shivia enough for giving me this opportunity. I am extremely happy that your team held my hand and provided me with excellent training to understand about raising chickens and earning money from them. I now have the confidence to carry on with my poultry enterprise on my own.” Putul, Shivia Poultry Farmer

Team Shivia getting stuck in during our Field Trip in Jharkhand. Not sure if we made as much impact on the corn as we would have liked but our Agriculture Programme is making a huge impact in this tribal village community! 🌽🍆🌶️🥬

A joyful and emotional day as we celebrated the ‘pass on’ gift ceremony with women on our Goat Farming Programme in Bihar. Each time a woman gifts one of her female goats to another woman in her community she empowers her neighbour so she too has the opportunity to earn money from rearing goats…and the impact of the programme doubles.

A few photos from our Field Trip to India showing happy faces of some of our poultry and goat farmers. Great to have friends from Artemis with us to see the impact our programmes are having here….and delighted to see that some of our farmers are already using the brand new Shivia Farmer App (free on App Store and Google Play)
