Thanks to National Lottery players, Access Sport will receive more than £3.5 million of life-changing funding over six years from The National Lottery Community Fund.

With this funding, we are joining forces with Disability Sport Wales, Scottish Disability Sport and Disability Sport NI to launch ‘From Sideline to Centre’!

A UK-wide initiative that will transform how clubs engage, empower, and support young people to become leaders in community sport.

Together, we’re working across all four nations to build a more inclusive sporting system where young people are leaders, decision-makers and changemakers.

🌳🚲 A major new community facility could be coming to Concord Park!

The proposed community bike park in Sheffield’s Concord Park would include a pump track and a learn-to-ride area for people of all ages and abilities.

The project aims to encourage active lifestyles, improve health and wellbeing, support local young people, and create a welcoming space for everyone while enhancing biodiversity and protecting the park's natural environment.

The new facility will allow Access Sport to deliver regular coaching sessions and activities, supporting the establishment of a sustainable community cycling club led by local coaches and volunteers.

We would appreciate positive feedback from the community so that we can deliver this life-changing space.

“The biggest transformation isn’t just the water. It’s the confidence, the friendships that now extend beyond the sessions, the smiles and the incredible sense of calm that being in and around the water brings.” 🌊

Through our partnership with Open Swim UK, disabled and neurodivergent young people in Trafford are developing their swimming ability, water safety skills and confidence in safe, inclusive, cost-free sessions. 🏊

From learning lifesaving techniques like Float to Live and Reach & Rescue to building friendships and independence, the impact has been incredible.🛟

The project featured on BBC News, helping to raise awareness of the importance of inclusive swimming opportunities and specialist water safety education for disabled and neurodivergent young people.

Chesterfield BMX Track is officially re-open! 🎉

On Sunday, riders, parents and community members gathered to celebrate the grand reopening of Chesterfield bmx track, following a £150,000 refurbishment.

The transformation marks the end of a challenging journey. When the club's original capital funding collapsed, the future of the project was put at risk.

Through our Facility Renovation Project, funded by London Marathon Events, we were able to step in and keep the vision alive, working alongside the club to reshape the refurbishment into a manageable, phased project.

The result? A revitalised venue featuring a state-of-the-art start gate, fresh signage and a fully resurfaced track ready for riders of all ages and abilities.

This upgraded facility enables Chesterfield BMX Club to resume its regular sessions and deliver inclusive opportunities for young people in the local community.

Together with London Marathon Events, we are creating inclusive sporting facilities where young people can thrive! 🚲

Launched in 2023 through our partnership with the LTA Tennis Foundation, Acez empowers tennis and padel clubs to create inclusive opportunities for disabled young people. 🎾

Since then, we have supported more than 60 groups to start disability-inclusive tennis and padel sessions - helping clubs and coaches to create welcoming spaces where young people can belong.

On Saturday, we welcomed 78 disabled and disadvantaged young people, plus their families, from across the country to the Acez Inclusive Tennis Festival, held at the National Tennis Centre.

The festival not only gave young people the opportunity to engage in fun, accessible and inclusive tennis and padel activities, but also provided the chance to celebrate the incredible growth and meaningful impact of the programme has had over the past three years.
