Today at Open church Manston we have Blood pressure checks open to anyone. Time 12.30pm 2.30pm Then in the Church hall from 2.45pm-4pm

Lots of our food is good quality surplus food which would have gone to landfill. We are committed to stopping food waste and offering affordable food for all.
We work with others to help the environment and help with the cost of living.
We buy food from an organisation called Fareshare who distribute food from supermarkets which they can’t sell because they’ve made too much.
We all need some help with the cost of living at the moment !
Come and see what amazing food we have this week…
OPENING TIMES
Thursdays 2-4pm & 6-7pm
and Friday 9-11am.
We are also offering free tea and coffees and a chat in the church on Thursday Afternoons.

ANNOUNCEMENT Keeping Our Community Safe

At Connecting Crossgates, we want everyone to enjoy a safe, welcoming and caring environment. We all have a part to play in helping to keep our community safe.

· If you see or hear anything that concerns you, however small it may seem, please speak to a member of the team. It is always better to share a concern than to keep it to yourself.

· Community events are open and welcoming, and many people attending may not know each other. While we value trust and friendship, it is important not to assume that someone is safe simply because they are present at an event. Healthy boundaries help keep everyone safe.

· Parents and carers remain responsible for the supervision and care of their children unless a specific supervised activity is being provided. Children should remain with their parents or carers and should not enter kitchens, storage areas or other staff-only spaces unless invited as part of an organised activity.

· Volunteers and visitors are encouraged to help create a culture where everyone looks out for one another and where concerns can be raised without fear of causing offence.

· Please look after your personal belongings and valuables. Connecting Crossgates cannot accept responsibility for items that are lost or stolen.

· We ask everyone to treat one another with kindness, dignity and respect.

· Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If something doesn't feel right, or if you notice something that concerns you, please speak to a member of the team. We would always rather hear about a concern and find there is nothing wrong than miss an opportunity to help keep someone safe.

Looking for a friendly place to work on your latest craft project, learn a new skill, and chat with other crafters? Come along to our twice monthly craft group in Crossgates.

Whatever your craft, you will be warmly welcomed in our group. Leave the daily worries behind and spend a couple of relaxing ours getting creative with other like-minded adults. The group is suitable for all skills levels, from beginners to seasoned crafters.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Methodist Church Hall on Austhorpe Road. The 1st Wednesday is for members to bring along their own personal projects, although we do have a few basic crafts materials available.

One of our team received this - so sharing it for the community

Dear Sir/Madam,

We would like to invite you to join the next East Leeds Extension Consultative Forum meeting on Monday 12th October 2026, 5:30pm-6:30pm at Swarcliffe Community Centre, where there will be a chance to speak to the housebuilders, local Ward Councillors, and officers about the development plans within the scheme.

The East Leeds Extension (ELE) is a stretch of undeveloped land around the edge of Red Hall, Whinmoor, Swarcliffe, and Crossgates, which is allocated for housing in the Leeds Development Plan for up to 5,000 new homes and supporting infrastructure. The East Leeds Orbital Route (ELOR) is a new dual carriageway alongside new pedestrian, equestrian and cycling infrastructure and a Country Park. A plan showing the ELOR and the different parts of the ELE is attached for information.
