We are supporting an all-women's cycling group in Levenmouth! What a fabulous opportunity

Mums on Wheels: Basic Bike Maintenance & Confidence Workshop
Are you a mum or granny who wants to support your child’s cycling, but feel left behind as they gain skills and confidence at school? Join our Mums on Wheels event in Leven - created just for you!
We know cycling is more than a sport—it’s a way to get around, a fun hobby, and a source of joy. This project aims to help mums (and grannies) build confidence, learn essential bike skills, and keep their family’s bikes safe and ready for adventure.
The main aim is for mums to be sure that their (and their child's) bike is safe to ride, but we will also show you how to deal with 2 of the most likely problems - punctures and chains coming off. We'll be handing out a bag of bike kit, and you'll be using these tools so that you go away fully confident. We'll also help you spot the difference between problems that you can fix easily at home and those that need a professional bike mechanic.
When: Thursday 2nd June 2026
Where: Together Levenmouth Hub. 45 High Street, Leven. KY8 4NE
What’s Included:
Basic bike maintenance workshop for women: Learn to check if your child’s bike is safe, fix a puncture, and put a chain back on.
You will receive a free basic kit to keep your bikes moving.
Lunch, teas and coffees.
No previous experience required! We will show you all you need to know.
Who is it for?
All mums, grannies, and female carers in the Leven area who want to support their children’s cycling journey.
How to join: RSVP here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAFaw0mVUMTZPMVoxUEhLQ0lISEFQMkg4VDhSM0U3VC4u
Come along, build your confidence, learn practical skills, and enjoy cycling as a family!

FREE EVENT: The Future of Waste | Saturday 30 May 2026, 2.00pm - 4.30pm

Where: Greener Kirkcaldy Community Space, 8 East Fergus Place, KY1 1XT

How does stuff become waste? Why are some things thrown away and others kept? What does waste mean to other-than-human things, like seabirds, dogs, or rocks?

In this creative, hands-on workshop, facilitated by artists Minty Donald and Nick Millar, we will work with (safe) items of waste, you will explore how materials transform from useful or valuable to rubbish – or to something else. Using creative activities to engage imaginatively with the futures of waste.

No previous experience or special skills needed!

Please book online at www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-future-of-waste-tickets-1988479000218

This event is part of Waste Futures Labs Kirkcaldy, a series of free events taking place in Kirkcaldy from the 29th - 31st May. This art and Science weekender is designed to explore our waste legacies and reimagine waste cultures as a force for positive change.

Mums on Wheels is coming to Levenmouth this June!

Many children rely on their mum to take them out on their bikes, but many lack confidence in their cycling ability, route planning knowledge and being able to fix small problems on their child's bike - and to ensure that it's safe to ride in the first place.

This project aims to change that. Through the project a cycle confidence session, a led ride and a basic bike maintenance session will all be delivered. Everyone who attends will get a 'goody bag' of bike essentials and loads of encouragement. It's also a project run by women for women.

With Greener Kirkcaldy and Levenmouth Women Cycling Group, all 3 of the activities are due to take place in June, but the team want to work around you!

Click on the link to fill out our short form enquiring about your interest in and availability for each activity.

Both CLEAR and Lang Toun Cycles have a range of bikes available to buy. Pop in for a visit and a chat. 🙂
