Sometimes an individual may have a cardiac abnormality without any symptoms. Screening with an electrocardiogram (ECG) is aimed at identifying people with conditions such as heart muscles disorders or electrical faults of the heart.

As a parent who knows the pain all too well, I am asking the government to take action and make cardiac screening accessible for all young people aged 14-35 ❤️

Fund population cardiac screening for every young person when they reach age 14 years. The screening should be undertaken with a review of family history and electrocardiogram (ECG) followed up where necessary with echocardiogram (heart scan).

As we come to the end of the year and reflect on all that has been achieved, I do so with immense gratitude.

With the help and dedication of so many incredible people, 11,132 young people have now been screened, and 483 have been referred for further investigation — numbers that represent lives supported, risks identified, and futures protected. Together, an incredible £820,000 has been raised, all in loving memory of Aaron. None of this would have been possible without the generosity, commitment, and belief of you all.

As I look ahead to the new year, I am deeply thankful for the continued support of the The JD Foundation and am excited to be working alongside OrthTeam Centre, Mygp Clinic and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital Trust as we build on this vital work with Cardiac Risk in the Young

At this special time of year, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has walked this journey with me. Your kindness, compassion, and support mean more than words can express.

196 young adults were screened this weekend, 7 of those referred for further investigation ❤️

The next screening is this coming weekend Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Penrith where another 200 will be screened ❤️
