For Sophia, a mum of four, life changed overnight when her seven-year-old son was diagnosed with leukemia while her youngest daughter was just six months old.
Our volunteer gave Sophia the time she deserved to be truly seen and heard. From engaging her son with drawing and Lego during difficult recovery days, to encouraging Sophia to journal her progress, the support offered both practical relief and crucial emotional reassurance.
"Knowing that support was available meant so much to me, because being in the situation that I was in with my four children and not really having much support in place, just knowing that there was someone there that would listen and come in and stand with me in those moments."
