An exciting step forward for Suffolks!

This afternoon the GCCF Council voted to accept Cinnamon and Fawn as new colours for the Suffolk breed. This acceptance today represents months of hard work from the Suffolk Breed Advisory Club to get this over the line.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all on the Suffolk BAC for putting so much time into getting this before the Board and Council, and a huge thank you to all at the Council who voted in favour of acceptance. This is an important step in the progress of this amazing breed that we love so much.

This also means that Cinnamon and Fawn owners may now be eligible to enter shows! If you have an eligible cinnamon or fawn why not enter our 5th Championship Show on the 25th July and be one of the very first to be seen on the show bench?

Get your entries in for our Championship Show!

Our 5th Championship show is rapidly approaching but there's still time to get your Suffolks entered!

Postal entries must be received by Friday 3rd July and online entries by 5pm on Sunday 5th July.

DON'T FORGET - Cinnamon and Fawn Suffolk owners MAY be able to enter after the GCCF Council vote on 27th June - we will let you know the outcome of the vote. It would be amazing to see some cinnamons and fawns on the show bench for the very first time!

📅 MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR 25TH JULY! 📅

The Suffolk Breed Cat Club is excited to announce our 5th Championship show, being held this year in Coventry on Saturday 25th July!
We'll be sharing with the Short Haired Cat Society which means cats can also enter the SHCS show as well and compete for two certificates on one day. Everyone is welcome and we would love to see you there to support this amazing breed 😻

❗️*IMPORTANT NEWS!*
The Suffolk Breed Advisory Committee has made an application for acceptance of cinnamon and fawn as additional colours. This will be put to vote at the next GCCF council meeting on the 27th June and we are very much hoping it will be agreed.

❗️THIS MEANS that if acceptance of these colours is agreed on the 27th June and you are a cinnamon or fawn owner and wish to enter them into the Suffolk Breed Cat Club show, you WILL be able to do so! Time will be short for getting your entry in (postal entries must be received by Friday 3rd July and online entries close at 5pm on the 5th of July), so get prepared now by making sure your cat is registered in your name on the GCCF website.

We would love to see your Chocolate & Lilacs there and for the Cinnamons and Fawns to potentially make their debut on the showbench (subject to their acceptance by
Gccf Council on 27th June) !

A huge apology to everyone who completed a Kitten Enquiry or a Membership application form in the last few weeks, we've just been made aware of a glitch in the system that meant we haven't received any notifications that these forms have been submitted.

Please rest assured they have now been received and we're working our way through.
