‘Preparing for kidding’ with the Essex and Suffolk goat club.

We will be covering a wide range of kidding topics from pre-birth care of the mums to be, the birthing process, and right through to post-birth care of both dam and newborns. The aim is that you will leave feeling a bit more confident ahead of kidding with the knowledge of what is normal and when you may need to call for backup.

Blimey! What happened to November?! 🫣

It’s been a super busy month for the club and somehow November is nearly over! 🚀

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who attended the BGS conference and our AGM this month.

It’s been so lovely to see you all and to get caught up while the weather has been getting darker and wetter outside.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported us with the BGS autumn conference yesterday! 🥰

It was a hugely successful day and very enjoyable too 🤩

We are beyond proud of the committee and all of the family/friends behind the scenes that make these events happen 💪🏻.

Looking forward to seeing you all for our AGM next weekend!

Our course on caring for your in-kid goat is due to take place on Sunday 21st September.

Have you booked your place?

Ideal for beginners or those new to breeding, including question time, support with care, feeding and top tips from experienced keepers. We will be covering a variety of topics from picking the male you’d like to use, seasons, matings, in-kid care and lightly touching on kidding too.

Time is ticking! ⏰

Only a few short days to go until our male and young stock show and social this Saturday, 26th July 2025 🗓️

If you are wanting to join us on the day for the social and fantastic ploughmans style lunch then be quick - you have until 5pm Wednesday 23rd July to book your space!

Lunch’s are provided for £10/head (£5/child) with a desert included 🍴🥗🥪🍰

Refreshments will be available throughout the day ☕️🫖🧁

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Steven Thomas our generous host for this event. Steven had kindly offering us the use of his home and grounds at Evans Hall and without his generosity we couldn’t run the event. 📍🏡

💫 Event update! 💫

Please be aware that our introduction to goat keeping course has had a date change & programme update.

The NEW date is Sunday 8th June 2025

This has changed from to previous date of Saturday 7th June.

We have also added a novice & young showmanship training session to this event. Further information for this will be released over the next few days 🤩

We’re all set to say hello at the Suffolk show. 👋🏼

Two days of goat showing and a great chance to meet some of our members (plus their goats 🐐).

📚 The education stand is assembled and the volunteers are ready for your questions. So come down to the goat marquee on either of the days and keep an eye out for us!
