The conclusion of "Big Local" is here. This website highlights the culmination of tireless, collaborative efforts of local residents who gave freely of their time to support and initiate projects and services that strengthen communities.

In NW Ipswich, we celebrate everyone’s effort and commitment to the years of work that have brought these plans to life for their own communities.

🌲 A warm farewell message from North West Ipswich Big Local Trust 🌲

As we embrace the festive season, we want to say a heartfelt farewell from everyone at North West Ipswich Big Local Trust.

To everyone who participated in any way over the last 12 years: Thank you for your service to our community. A very special thanks to those who participated from beginning to end. Marion, Pat, David, Tracey and Lorraine. 🤩

Without your passion, dedication, and teamwork, Big Local simply couldn’t have happened. Many of the projects and initiatives that Big Local Trust started or supported continue to enrich our community and remain part of our shared fabric.

This page will remain as a standing legacy, so you can still enjoy the photos and memories we’ve shared together. It will close to new comments and posts as we closed out this year, but the memories will endure.

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a joyful festive season. May warmth, love, and blessings surround you and your families.

A final note from our partners:
For those in touch with Big Umbrella: the offer of fundraising support remains available. If you’d like a list of grant funders, please contact Julie at [email protected]

Last year, BLT awarded grants to six groups to install or update kitchen facilities that would improve their ability to serve the community. We are delighted to see the completed work at Whitton United Football Club and wish them much success in achieving their goals!⚽️ Thanks to Lucky Singh for sending over the picture and for all his hard work behind the scenes.

Funding alert - https://www.clothworkersfoundation.org.uk/
Their Open Grants Programme funds capital costs that support the infrastructure needs of small- and medium-sized charitable organisations working with disadvantaged and marginalised people and communities. Eligible organisations can apply for a grant to cover the costs of a building purchases, construction or refurbishment projects, vehicle or equipment purchases, and some digital infrastructure projects (such as apps, databases and websites).

Within this programme, they prioritise organisations that embed lived experience across their work, and projects which will make a significant change to their work.

‘Capital’ funding is a rare resource for what are often essential costs. Their grants have funded laptops that helped a small organisation become more efficient, a vehicle that allowed for greater reach, or a new building that transformed an organisation’s activities and sustainability. In the case of buildings, they know that owning this asset can increase the chances of an organisation surviving and thriving, particularly in economically disadvantaged areas. If you need help with an application, please contact [email protected]
