We introduce children to golf • from all backgrounds • creating golfers
We do this because golf can change lives

We help young people to ‘Start and Stay’ in golf by making their introduction to the game fun, innovative, inspiring, inclusive and enriching. We take adapted versions of the game to schools and community groups, introduce young people to golf clubs, teach playing and transferable life skills and keep young people playing in golf clubs.

We introduce a quarter of a million young people to golf each year, and bring golf and mental well-being to schools, communities and golf clubs

Why? Because of impacts like this. Making young people from all communities and backgrounds feel welcome and have a safe space is a huge part of our job

One in five children and young people aged eight to 25 in England had a probable mental disorder in 2023

That is why giving young people practical tools to support their confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing matters

This ❤️ we’re celebrating our Unleash Your Drive programme which does just that

Unleash Your Drive combines golf activity with Mental Toughness Tools including emotional control, positive self-talk, focus, self-compassion and resilience

Our recent survey told us that pupils are showing

• A 54% increase in pupils’ confidence to speak up and share ideas

• A 41% increase in managing feelings and emotional responses

• A 34% increase in seeing challenges as opportunities

Physical activity can support young people’s mental health, cognitive development and overall wellbeing. Through Unleash Your Drive, golf gives us an engaging way to help children practise those skills in a safe and supportive environment

Check out our manager Andy delivering our tools to one group - these tools help the young people to improve their golf, but what we are really doing is preparing them with tools to handle pressure situations in school and in life. To focus on challenges better, to block our distractions, and to be kind to themselves up against adversity

The RJ Heritage Invitational brought together 120 golfers and 200 gala guests on 18 September for a day of golf, fundraising and a gala evening featuring Norwich City legends Grant Holt and Wes Hoolahan.

The event raised a record £20,199 across five charities, with £5,500 coming to the Golf Foundation.

Our CEO Brendon Pyle was there on the day: "The enthusiasm for golf, the generosity of everyone involved and the commitment to making a positive difference were fantastic to see."
