REGISTERED CHARITY No: 1201639 Tragically, however, he became a victim of online harmful material.

Following the tragic loss of our son, Christoforos, at the age of 15 years old, we were driven to set up CCF. Our Christoforos was a bright, good natured and courteous boy, who was always polite and respectful with everyone. Deceptively, the site appears harmless, which is precisely how it hooks in children and vulnerable young people. Unbeknown to many of us, there are, however, far darker and da

ngerous dimensions to these types of websites. And sadly, all too often, children can stumble into them unknowingly, not recognising them as being harmful – and, on occasion, can soon be drawn and enticed deeper into them with persuasive, addictive offers of all sorts, such as free online gaming/games, among other temptations predators offer. Most parents can relate to how their children can, at times, withdraw into the isolated, lonely digital world; how children, sometimes, prefer to spend more time on social media rather than engage in person with the world around them, outside the social media screen. Social media is increasingly becoming a ‘replacement’ for a lot of offline social interaction. Even if children and/or young adults are away from their digital devices, the urge and feeling to constantly check their social media platforms remains a strong force, often driven by feelings of FOMO, fear-of-missing-out.

Today, we are feeling incredibly overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude.

After everything our family has been through following the devastating loss of our beloved son Christopher, we never stopped fighting to protect other children from the dangers that exist online. We promised ourselves that Christopher’s life would leave a legacy that could help save others.

The announcement that social media for under-16s will be banned by Spring 2027 is a huge step in the right direction. While there is still much work to do, this gives hope to families across the country and sends a clear message that the safety of our children must come first.

We want to thank every single person who has supported us on this journey — our followers, supporters, campaigners, schools, charities, politicians, the media, and all the families who have shared their stories with us. Your support has meant more than words can ever express.

This moment is not about us. It’s about protecting children, raising awareness, and ensuring that fewer families have to endure the heartbreak that we live with every day.

Thank you for standing beside us. Together, we are creating change.

❤️ In loving memory of Christopher.

If Australia Can Protect Children, Why Can’t We?

We lost our 15-year-old son Christopher to predators he met through social media.

Today, more and more countries are recognising the dangers that unrestricted social media poses to children and are either introducing bans, restrictions, or actively considering them.

Countries taking action include:
🇦🇺 Australia (already banned for under-16s)
🇨🇦 Canada
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
🇫🇷 France
🇩🇪 Germany
🇩🇰 Denmark
🇬🇷 Greece
🇪🇸 Spain
🇸🇮 Slovenia
🇮🇩 Indonesia
🇲🇾 Malaysia
🇦🇹 Austria
🇵🇱 Poland

Many governments are citing concerns about online predators, exploitation, cyberbullying, mental health, addiction, and harmful algorithms targeting children.

The question is simple:

How many more children must suffer before stronger action is taken?

We are not willing to stay silent. Christopher’s legacy is about protecting children and making the internet a safer place for future generations.

👇 POLL QUESTION 👇

Should social media be banned for children under 16?

✅ Yes, protect our children
❌ No, parents should decide

Please vote, share, and help us raise awareness.

💙 Our Beloved Son, Christopher 💙

There isn’t a single day that passes that I don’t think about you, miss you, and wish you were still here with us.

This photograph captures a moment in time that I will treasure forever, a father holding his son, unaware of how precious those moments would become.

Christopher, you were loved beyond words and you are missed beyond measure. Your smile, your kindness, and your spirit continue to live on through everything we do.

Although your life was taken far too soon, your legacy continues to protect and inspire other children through the work of CCF World. You remain the reason we fight every day to make the online world safer for young people.

Until we meet again, my beautiful boy.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.

Dad 💙

I’m going to keep this simple. If we truly want to protect children from the dangers of social media, online predators, harmful algorithms, bullying, exploitation, and mental health harm… should we stop giving smartphones to children under 16?

No smartphone = no social media access in their pocket, less exposure to harmful content, and more time to grow, learn, and stay safe.

This is not about punishment. It’s about protection. As a father who lost his son and now spends his life educating children and parents through schools, I genuinely want to hear your thoughts.
