💬 Another lovely piece of feedback from someone we’ve been able to support.

When someone is waiting for their benefits to be put in place, finding the money to cover essentials such as gas and electricity can be incredibly difficult. One of our clients told us:

⭐ “The fuel voucher will help me massively until I get my benefit – I don’t know what I would have done without your help.”

Our advice service is about more than helping people access the benefits they’re entitled to. Where possible, we also help people through those difficult periods in between, making sure they can access practical support when they need it most.

Sometimes, getting advice isn’t just about finding the answer, it’s about making sure people understand what happens next and what they need to do. One of our clients recently told us:

Residents of the De Bruce Ward are invited to come along to the next Ward Surgery and speak directly with their local Ward Councillors.

🏠 Warm Home Discount 2026/27 – £150 towards your energy bill 💷

The Government has confirmed that the Warm Home Discount will continue for winter 2026/27, providing eligible households with a £150 rebate on their electricity bill.

✅ You may qualify if you receive an eligible means-tested benefit, including:
• Universal Credit
• Pension Credit
• Housing Benefit
• Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

⚠️ Important – check your energy account now!

If you are eligible, make sure your name is on your household energy bill by 23 August 2026.

🏡 If you've recently moved home, update your energy supplier as soon as possible.

🔑 If you have a prepayment meter and top up using a key or card, make sure the energy account is registered in your name too.

As our Pop-Up School Uniform Event comes to a close, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated school uniforms and supported this year's event.

Your generosity has made a real difference to local families preparing for the new school year.

A special thank you also goes to ReLoved Clothing , who continue to support us by providing additional items whenever we need them. Your ongoing kindness and community spirit are truly appreciated.

Over the three days of the event, together we have:
🎒 Helped 47 families
👕 Clothed 95 children
📚 Given out an incredible 479 school uniform items

These figures represent so much more than uniforms – they mean less financial pressure for families, children starting the new school year with confidence, and a community coming together to support one another.

Thank you to every single person who donated, volunteered, shared our posts or helped spread the word. We couldn't do it without you. 💙
