Well done to our visitors from Thorntree Academy who came on our new "The Tees Coastline - Climate Change & Sea Defences" visit, for which we've received funding from the Environment Agency's Tees Tidelands Youth Engagement. This means we can offer schools from across the region an admission-free visit to come and look at the impacts of climate change on the local coastline here at Teesmouth. Well done for all you hard work Year 5!

We welcomed Primary School to the Field Centre on Tuesday - they came to learn all about the "River Tees - from Source to Mouth" and had a great day visiting the Transporter Bridge and the North Gare beach. Some great teamwork produced some fantastic models on the beach, well done everyone!

It was great to find these photos from our visitors from Peter's Elwick CofE Primary who took part in our new "The Tees Coastline - Climate Change & Sea Defences" option that has been funded by Environment Agency Tees Tidelands Youth Programme. WE had a great time exploring the local coastline at North Gare, looking at ways climate change is impacting it. We also visited Greatham Creek to see the flood alleviation scheme in action as the tide was coming in, we also took binoculars for a closer look at the wildlife that lives there.... a packed day!

Fame at last....well sort of! We have a regular group of visitors that come to us every year from Leeds RSPB and the coach company that brought them last time has used a photo of the coach outside the Visitor Centre building for February on their 2026 calendar! Form a queue for autographs.....

Happy New Year - everyone is back to school, back to work and raring to go after the festivities! We are looking forward to this coming half term - our first visitors of 2026 will be here on Monday, so we are having a few much needed catch up days in the office. Our last visitors of 2025 from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School came to learn all about local Rocks & Fossils last Thursday. This half of the year had a much more pleasant day for their visit, unlike Tuesday's group! Thank you for working so hard all day, well done everyone!
