MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK! 💙

The world is a very strange and sad place at the moment. Which makes it all the more important to look out for each other and look after ourselves. To brighten up the mood and to honour Mental Health Awareness week, we want to hear your favourite angling story, capture or memory. Let's spread some positivity and some happiness to outshine all the doom and gloom!

Pass it on!

At the weekend one of our original club members, Jess, took her friend and her friends grandson to Woodlands Tackle & Lakes Thirsk for a day session.

Jess says:

" We fished Kestrel lake at the Woodlands in Thirsk. We stripped right back to basics and I showed Frankie some simple rigs and bait choices. We chose pva bags with a small amount of RG Baits pellet mix and a Ripple Wafter. 20 mins into the session the Carp rod screams off!

Everything slowed down at midday so we also set up a method feeder. Frankie learned to cast the rods and landed multiple carp in the session from his own cast. Most fish caught close in as the wind was blowing directly into our bank. Had a little play about with the float too and had multiple species. In summary Frankie learned a lot, got some helpful tips and tricks and his angling confidence is growing massively 🥰"

Fantastic effort from Jess and a perfect display of what we're all about. Let's build each other up through a mutual love of fishing and help the next generation of anglers and new anglers get started.

Unfortunately due to lack of interest and conflicting schedules our session this Saturday has had to be rescheduled for next month.

We are excited to announce two new designs for our clothing range. These two designs have been in development for some time and we are now happy to share them with you!

Both designs are made to order and available in all sizes.

The shirts are £15 +P&P each(free delivery in Hartlepool) with all the proceeds going to our charity and enabling us to continue doing the work that we do.

We will stop taking orders for the first batch on the 10th of April. There will be a two week lead time after this cut off date to give us time to manufacture the shirts. (Yes, the design work and manufacturing is all done in house!)

Today we want to shine a light on two people whose generosity has truly touched us.

First, a huge and heartfelt thank you to Mrk Collins for his unbelievably generous donation of equipment. This isn’t just gear — it’s opportunity. It’s confidence. It’s moments on the bank that will change lives. Your kindness will have a lasting impact on every person who comes through our sessions, and we can’t thank you enough, Mark.
