Our next Meeting is on Monday 20 April 2026 and features a talk by Nigel Metcalfe entitled ‘A One-Way Ticket’.
Nigel will reveal the strange story of the London Necropolis Railway Line which opened in November 1854 to solve the problem of the overcrowding of London cemeteries. It carried corpses and mourners between London and the newly opened Brookwood Cemetery, 23 miles southwest of London in Brookwood, Surrey.

Hampton in Arden Probus Club, since the early 1990s a male only club, has voted by a substantial majority to amend its constitution so that both gents and ladies can join. This change comes into immediate effect. The only entry requirements now are that members should be at least sixty years old, live within a five mile radius of the centre of the parish, or otherwise have some connection with the parish.
We meet for a monthly talk (recent examples are included in the postings below), and organise walks, and other sports and social events.
