The children had a wonderful time getting to see the ducklings that have watched develop & hatch since Day 1 go for their first swim.

It is vitally important that our children learn about the process of life, caring for something smaller than yourself and understanding how different species develop & grow.

The ponies, but especially Magic are saints at teaching children how to long-rein.

But these sessions are not just about teaching an equine skill, for all this may be of benefit as a life skill, but it also helps us look at a variety of academic skills such as; learning counting, directions, planning a route, angles etc.

However it also promotes soft skills such as body language, vocal tone, empathy, emotional regulation, failure and success, reward rather than punishment etc. which are as vitally important in our childrens growing and learning.

This week some of our young people explored Springtime by hunting for wildlife around the site then decorating their own stones or wood pieces with a picture of their choice.

Our 3rd and 4th incubator packages were set up in two Primary Schools in Warwickshire.

Our expert not only sets up the automated incubators and brooders but they chat to the children about the process and answer lots of the students questions about and help them learn new vocabulary.

Our expert will also pop back in to help them candle the eggs and change the incubator humidity and turner when it's time for the ducklings to hatch.

11 out of 11 baby chicks hatched in our incubator package set up for a private client in Coventry.

It was lovely to get to meet these babies only a few days old and we will be collecting them to take to the farm later next week however the family who have hatched them are desperate to come visit them once they are in their new home.

World Countries Topic: part of our SEMH curriculum.

We love opening up a world of adventure with our students, exploring music, dance, food, religion, language and geography.

This week we were in China, finding out what our names meant & how to write them, making & decorating Chinese dragon and our own Chinese meal.

Over the course of this term one of our SEN/ SEMH groups from Elm's Farm Primary School have been learning all our wildlife.

They have created miniature bottle habitats and growing plants to attract bees and butterflies. They have learnt about the homes and hides of different creatures, studied birds feathers and nesting habits and looked at how pollution affects our wildlife.

In learning about all these topics they have taken part in English, Maths, Science and compiling booklets of their studies that they are very proud of and looking forward to taking home at the end of term.

Alongside this they have also produced maps, clay statues and art works using various mediums as creative outdoor learning helps these children engage with their education whilst still having space to breathe and time to process.

Following on from last week's post Tigger has now been introduced over a few days to Ghost in a neutral run with two houses and lots of tubes and hidey-holes so they can give each other a wider berth if needed.

However as you can see Ghost is very intrigued by Tigger and has been lonely since his mate Cow and her babies were removed so it is nice to see him have some company in between stud duties. He is a very friendly but polite boy so hopefully they both enjoy having a new friend!
