Hailsham foodbank UK Foodbanks 13 million people live below the poverty line in the UK. Every day people in the UK go hungry. Please help us help them.

Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. Trussell Trust foodbanks provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in the UK. In 2011-12 foodbanks fed 128,687 people nationwide, 100% more than the previous year. Rising costs of food and fuel combined with static income, high une

mployment and changes to benefits are causing more and more people to come to foodbanks for help. The Trussell Trust partners with churches and communities to open new foodbanks nationwide. With over 250 foodbanks currently launched, our goal is for every town to have one.

Could you help us stock up on some extra items?

We are very low on, or have completely run out of the following....

Toilet roll, dog food, men's toiletries and household items such as washing up liquid and cleaning sprays. We would be so thankful if you could drop any of these items into a donation point when you are shopping. Your support will make a huge difference to local people facing hardship.

Our project received £500 through the Community Matters scheme which is helping to get food on every table by partnering with local food banks, community kitchens, and charitable organisations.

Last week we said thank a big thank you to our brilliant volunteers with some cake and tea! 🍰
We also celebrated our oldest volunteer's birthday on the same day.....Happy 90th birthday Mac! 🎉
We are so thankful for all of our amazing volunteers....we couldn't serve the local community without them 💚
